As I read the posts and threads here regarding people locating, sourcing, buying ATF from dealers, etc - I've come across a bulletin from ZF which I wanted to share for discussion. It was posed in January of this year.
http://www.zf.com/media/media/en/document/lubricantslists/TE-ML_11.pdf
The last pages appear to provide the "compatable" fluids for the ZF transmissions in our RRs.

As an example - I look up the ZF 5HP24 for my 05 RR HSE, and I see several fluids on the "approved trade classes" for Service 11B.
In addition to the ZF Lifeguard 5, I found the Esso, Dexron III, BP Autran, etc.

Now - some of these Ive seen before (Esso) - but this was the first time I've seen them published by ZF.

Could be duplicate info here - but thought I'd share.

Glad to understand from others if there are other "conversion" lists - that help us with Diff, Engine Oil, etc.

Just to be clear, TE-ML 11 states that the only fluid suitable for the 5HP24 is ZF Lifeguard Fluid 5

This fluid is ZF’s branded version of Mobil ATF LT71141 which was previously labelled as Esso LT71141. All of the vehicle manufacturer part numbers quoted are for the Mobil ATF LT71141 fluid.

Phil - I think I follow you. The 2015 TE-ML 11 which I provide the link to (above) shows other brands of fluid. I accept that they are all rebranding / relabled versions of the LT71141 (ZF Lifeguard 5). However - if that is the case, then I should be able to use any of these brands in my ZF tranny and be compliant with the TE-ML 11. Is that right?

When you say ‘other brands of fluid’ are you referring to those listed under class 11A and 11B? If so, these classes do not apply to the 5HP24.

If you buy part number JLM 20238 from a Jaguar dealer, or 8322 9407807 from a BMW dealer, etc., etc. they will supply you with a cardboard box in which you’ll find a 1 litre bottle of Mobil ATF LT71141. They all charge different prices, of course.
