Transmission shifting Sluggish when Cold

I am having a minor issue issue with my 2015 SC. When the engine is cold (i.e., just started, not necessarily cold temp outside), the transmission shifts gears at a much higher RPM than when warm. Shift from 1st to 2nd often takes place north of 3000 RPM when the truck is first started. After running for 5 or 10 minutes, it settles back into a normal shifting pattern. It is not a big deal to compensate by the using the manual, paddle shifter when first starting it up, but it makes me wonder when there is a real problem here I should be addressing. What do y'alk think?

My 14 does this often. Usually when it’s really cold outside (below freezing) it’ll be sluggish until 15 mins of drive time before it smooths out. Don’t have this problem when it’s above freezing. I’m doing the transmission service for the first time in the next few days…..hoping that solves the issue.

The transmission/engine is tuned to do this on purpose when the driveline is cold to get things up to temperature more quickly for various reasons: emissions, internal wear, etc. Most cars will do this. I believe it even talks about this in the manual. The only reason to change tranny fluid is either at the service interval (or slightly before) or if the tranny is shifting roughly or stuttering.

I have not heard of anyone saying problems will occur after a trans flush/fluid change. My mechanic whose tech at LR said they do high mileage vehicles all the time.
