usic quality sounds great! Works just like an iphone was connected! Music starts up when the car does (in my 2011 Range Rover Sport)

Steering wheel controls work, and track names show up on the dash console screen!

It also worked with my Android phone, but the track names didn't show up.

Definitely the best solution for those who switched to an iPhone 5 or 5s with the lightning connector or to an Android phone!

PS -- it also worked in a Porsche Cayenne, and apparently also works in BMW, VW, and Mercedes. Seems to work by spoofing cars into thinking it is an iphone.

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

Does the phone let you have more than one bluetooth connection at one time? Otherwise, do you have to switch the phone over to the RRS when you want to make a call?

Yes, (as tested with both Android Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and iPhone 4s), you can have two bluetooth connections at the same time). You don't have turn off one to use the other. The Android give a bit more information and tells me that rangerover is connected as a handsfree telephone device and Tune2air is connected as a multimedia audio device.

So it's about ideal as it gets!

Does this plug in under the center arm rest?

I finally found the solution if you just have the aux jack in one of the older ranger rovers. I have an 06 Range Rover sport and this seems to do the trick. Powers up and connects each time you start the car. All the others either didn't stay connected or had glitches because they did both audio and phone. This one is audio only so there is no conflict with the factory bluethooth hands free phone connection. So far so good, will post again in a week with final thoughts.

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

Unless you have the factory ipod connector under the arm rest, it's not going to work. My MY06 did not come with the ipod connector, so I'm stuck using the aux connecter.

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

If there is no iPod/iPhone connector under your armrest lid like in the picture, then you cannot use the Bluetooth module OP is suggesting.

Nice! Can you please write down a "Connect For Idiots" guide?
I have bought a similar device that should fit atvthe end of the original 30 pin cable in the iPod socket. I have succeed in pairing the iPhone 5 to the device, but i dont know how to pair the device to the car. I have a 2010 s/s and REALLY want this to work. The original cable i so thick and stiff, so i am afraid it will harm the tiny lightning socket that i can put between the 30 pin original LR cable and the iPhone 5. Therefor i am very interested in this wireless solution.
Please help! It would be so nice to stream wireless AND use the controls at the steering wheel!
I have really searched for a guide to this solution!

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

Did you simply use the iPod/iPhone 30 pin to lightning adapter? I'm looking to install this in my '11 RR to stream Bluetooth from my iPhone 5.

Thanks!

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

Just plugged in the tune2air to the ipod cable and works like a charm. Great product. Quick question though, when selecting a song from a playlist on my phone, the music will continue to play songs in the order I have them on my phone; however, when I browse through the playlist on the touchscreen, the songs only appear in alphabetical order. Is there any way to make the songs appear in the order in which they appear on my phone?

Ignore my last post, I discovered that if I press track listing, it pulls up the songs in order of the playlist

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

Do not want to hijack someone elses thread...
it sounds like you are just talking about attaching the phone?

If so first you need to pair the phone with the RRS via the phone, generally accomplished through settings, turning bluetooth on, acquiring available devices(scan for devices), and pairing(selecting) with/the RRS. Once paired the RRS should be displayed as a "paired" device.

Once the phone is paired to your car, you can then attach it to the RRS by entering the code 2121. The radio screen should briefly show "phone attached" or something like that.

You will however have to do this everytime you enter your car.

My samsung II prompts me to attach everytime I unlock the door or insert the key, can't remember.

I have not tried to bluetooth any other functions, I believe you would need to physically connect your phone, or do as the oprigional post describes to enable alterante media sources.

NO WAY! You do NOT have to do that every time. My smartphone connects automatically once I'm in the car, no interaction required (except the very first time when you have to pair). This is the way it is supposed to work. You must do something wrong.

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

Sorry my mistake, I failed to qualify my response...

I should have mentioned that it does depend on the particular phone, not all bluetooth enabled phones automatically attach.

Bluetooth was created as a standard but it's implementation still varies greatly from device to device, especially where implementation Involves 8 year old cars and a phone like my Samsung II that is a few generations old.

I would imagine there are less connection issues with newer phones and newer RR's.

Just a note, sometimes Android phones are "needy", depending on the OS version, and want to be the first or only device attached. Issues sometimes arise if other pairings exist or they are not the primary device. One could try to remove all other attachments if they exist and try pairing and attaching if one cannot get an attachment.

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

Do you have the iPhone / iPod connector under the center console - the image the other member posted? I have an '08 RRS S/C and I have that connector and it appears you need 1) the cord that connects to your device and 2) the bluetooth receiver (what the original OP posted). When the cord (1) is connected to the bluetooth device (2), you can pair it with your phone and there you go, music.

Another thank you for this! Just got it for my 09 Carrera 911 which required the phone to be connected via cable in the little cubby box, and it works PERFECTLY. Decided to buy a new cable and attach this...cannot believe how much better this sounds than before when just connected to the 4 year old cable. Wow! Many thanks! Next time I'm on Beale Street...you'll hear it!

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

hussy74, that's correct. The factory installed Personal Telephone Integration option included Bluetooth and the connector for a hardwired phone cradle under the center arm rest. If you are missing the cradle connector, your car didn't come with PTI / Bluetooth (you would also be missing the telephone Send / End paddle switches on the right side of the steering wheel.) As I recall, PTI was an extra cost option back in 2006.

Re: Bluetooth Audio Success!!! Audio with steering wheel control!

The radio / head unit is the same, it will have a telephone button and a dial pad regardless of whether you have factory PTI or not. If you don't have the steering wheel paddles and the connector under the arm rest is missing as well, you don't have PTI, sorry.
