Has anyone had any problems like this?

2015 Range Rover SC V8 has been towed to the dealer twice. The RR will not shift out of park, and it reads "gearbox fault"

What's actually extremely surprising abut this forum is just how few problem posts there are in the L405 section. Almost every post is people talking about getting their next one or what colors to get. Stark contrast to the Cadillac forums where it's post after post of why is my order delayed, why does my truck vibrate, why do in have paint defects, etc. any product will have problems, but JLR has hit a home run on the new gen L405.

My opinion on the 15 tranny is its the best I've ever driven, period. They killed it. I've had 6 new vehicles in past 18 months all with 8 speed. JLR is the only one I didn't have a problem with, and was actually impressed by.

I have 2015 RR Sport HSE, it keeps "poping" out of when stoped at Red light, after I press the gas (for green light), with the digital "D" on my dash flashing...

I have toput in Park, and then Drive while cars are honking behind me.

Bought t in Jan, brand new. it has 3500 Miles on it.

I took it i to Dealer today and they are saying they need to see it happen....

Can anyone shed some color on this?

Same is happening to my 15 FFRR. It happens with the start /stop engaged. Usually after subsequent start /stop. Bumper to bumper street traffic. The D blinks and , I have to move to Park and then D. I think it's a computer software glitch as if it doesn't know to rengage. It's only happens once in a while. First time, it happened was scary as I thought needed to be towed. Lucky it was switch to P then D then off we go.

I purchase my new RR sport last month. Couple of times it won't go into gear after I am stopped at red light. D is flashing on the digital panel. I had to shut off the engine and restart the vehicle to get it going. I think the new automatic start stop function is causing the problem. At one incident vehicle would move very slowly at high revs after being stopped at the red light. My vehicle has only 2000 miles and already has this problem happened to me three times.

I have a 2015 Range Rover HSE and am experiencing similar transmission issues. Went to accelerate at traffic light and car seemed like it was in neutral. I shifted into "S" and the car did then move but when I switched into "D" it was again like in Neutral. Finally after a minute or two the transmission engaged and I made it home. Yesterday the car began "jolting" when going from 1st into 2nd gear. Happened repeatedly. When I went to park and had to back up, the car would not get into reverse. The "R" flashed but no movement. Had to turn car off and back on and then it worked???? Car is at dealer now.

Why not pull the fuse on the stop start technology? That would eliminate the problem.

I have a 2016 RRS Diesel with 1600 miles (Delivered 11/18) and recently found oil on my garage floor. Brought it in and they change the oil pan stating that it was warped. A week later I see oil still dripping onto my floor and dropped it off again. They initially diagnosed it as transfer case gasket leak. They replaced that and thought they had solved the problem but on a test drive they received a transmission fault error. After a week of not being able to clear the error, my service department is now telling me that the oil is leaking "through the metal of the transmission" and that the whole transmission needs to be replaced. Since they don't have a new one in the USA they need to order the part from the UK and that they need another 2-3 weeks to complete the repair. So far I have owned the rig for 6 weeks and they will have it for 4-5 weeks. At least they gave me a jag as a loaner. Prior to all this the rig has been perfect. No signs of transmission failure or any other problems. Talking with service to see how they want to proceed with my situation since the car will have been in service for over 30 days in a row.

This weekend, I drove my car for about 30mins, from home to work, car drove perfectly fine until I got to my destination. The car will not move from Drive to Reverse. So I parked the car in Drive. When I turned on the car, it was still in Drive mode. The D kept blinking and the car won’t start because it is in the Drive gear. I called Range Rover dealer and got the car towed. Very disappointing and dissatisfied. Hence been driving range rovers for 18 years now. Any advise?
