Hey Ray!

mom running the prior system (love it).

when I upgrade to the 9.0 did you have to pull apart the the monitor like the prior install?

or will the 9.0 install be a bit more simplified ? New loom. Remove button / switch pack and replace screen only?
Mathew,

The 9.0 installs the same way the 7.1 version did. However you only need to leave the right side button pack connected and tucked in the dash. The 9.0 version also has a different harness but all the other accessories included are the same...basically, if you're just switching from the 7.1 version to the 9.0 version, you can use the same microphone, 4G antenna, GPS antenna and speaker but you will need to use the new main harness that comes with the 9.0 version. You can always call or text me if you're confused about anything.

Hi everyone, I purchased a unit from Android Aftershock on 31.07.20 and installed it. I was very impressed with it. I have now been offered a company car so I have removed the unit from my RRS.
If anyone is interested in buying one in the UK I'm happy to get £600 for it. This is a bargain considering the cost of the item, shipping costs and import duties (£163.83)If interested send me a pm.
Hi mate, I might be interested as potentially picking up a RRS this weekend. Where abouts are you based?

Guys,

Has anyone experienced an issue with CarPlay where by it constantly defaults to left hand drive, despite right being selected in settings menu?

Even after going in and selecting again it to RIGHT it still sets to LEFT when plugged in, then randomly after a period of unplugging and plugging back in goes back to right (not changing any settings)

Both box and app are fully up to date, and this was happening before the new IOS14 update....

Any help would be great..

I’ve never had that one, so sorry I cannot help.

I have had two other minor “issues” that happen consistently:
1. No audio. This happens at startup only and only about 15% of the time. Phone is connected and recognized, but no audio. Disconnect and reconnect always works. Audio never drops at that point.
2. Steering wheel buttons stop controlling audio and track forward. This happens after a period of time. This is consistent... after an hour so, buttons stop working. Only fix is to disconnect and reconnect.

Neither of these are major issues and I can certainly deal with them for the benefits I receive out of the unit... heck, I haven’t even raised them to Ray, because they are so minor, but your post made me curious if others have seen either of these.

I’ve had the steering wheel issue, happens sporadically and like you say no big deal.

Never had the sound issue....

I did raise my issue to Ray first but he wasn’t sure, so I guess the forums is the place to see if anyone has had the same issues and or managed to fix them.

Mine is ongoing every time I plug in phone or connect wireless and I’ve changed absolutely nothing. Then randomly goes back to the correct side (right for me)

Hey guys, most of the issues we see with CarPlay are software bugs. There will always be software issues with CarPlay on these aftermarket units trying to keep up with the changes that Apple makes with each of their own software updates. If you open the AutoPlay app on the Android unit and go to the settings menu then scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will see a key that says check updates. In my experience so far, some of the updates have caused new bugs such as what some of you describe in previous post. With that being said, sometimes it's not always good to update the AutoPlay software if CarPlay has been working fine.

Ray, yeah I understand that. However for my issue I did nothing and updated nothing (not on unit or phone) It just started switching to left despite being set to right in settings menu.

Without a factory reset is there a way to revert back to a previous update for the dongle?

Or is it a case of uninstall and re-install the Carplay app which means finding the correct APK file?

Yes, you can try deleting the AutoPlay app and re-install it. I can send you the APK file...but maybe you should first try updating the software on your iPhone and then update the AutoPlay software.

is this audio and steering wheel control issue only with apple car play ? or the entire device.
No idea. I only use CarPlay.

To correct my above statement on the audio not working and having to unplug and replug it in... this happens about 15% of the time and only at startup. Doing the plug shuffle corrects it 100% of the time.
