Does anyone have the procedure and what to use to clean the Air sensor for a Jag 4.4 for a rough idle esp at start-up?

I agree this would be best, but I was able to clean mine in place.

My 2006 RR was running a bit ruff at times, and I was getting an error message now and then. I removed the duct work by the Throttle Body, then used a good spray cleaner, being sure to open it up and clean the backside. Its amazing how clean it is now, its like new, my RR now runs so smooth and no error messages.

You can google ... how to clean a Throttle Body .... to get a good idea of what to do.

It's a MAF sensor, not MAS.
You can clean it with CRC MAF sensor cleaner. CRC p/n 05110.
The throttle body can be cleaned with.......you guessed it, throttle body cleaner! CNC p/n 05078
Any half decent parts store will have both on the shelf.

If you got away with cleaning it in situ, then good deal, this time.
You'd have to open the butterfly, stuff shop towel behind it, then clean.....To ensure nothing went into the intake.
Taking a part off is always the best way to clean it, period.

I would like to clean my MAF Sensor but ran into a problem.

Can someone identify the size and type of tool I need to remove these screws from my sensor? Looks like some sort of torque screw with a nagging stud in the middle. I took this pic to two stores and they have no idea what to even call the screw, let alone the name of the part that removes it. Thanks!

It is Torx security/anti-tamper screw. Auto manufacturers use these screws in places they don’t want “average joes” messing with. I am not sure exactly what size that particular one is... probably a T25. HF sells a security bit set that included most common Torx security sizes along with MANY other styles.

That said, if you need help to recognize the type of the screw the manufacturer used to prevent tampering, you probably don’t have the skill set needed to be tampering with it. I don’t want to sound rude, but if you don’t know what you are doing you run the risk of ruining your MAF.

Thanks for the advice KG! I ordered a tamper/security torx set in hopes that I have better luck than you did with the fitting. WRONG! It didn't fit because the pin was too wide for it to snuggle on the bolt. I ended up using a pair of vice grips to get them off. Able to clean the sensor and put it back on. Also reset the CEL. Will update everyone on if it fixed my rough idle and P0174 issues or not.
