Its simple:
Start the wiper and push the tailgate open button when its on the screen middle. Then stop the tailgate and Switch ingnition off.

 

Sounds promising...

 

Popping the hatch didn;t work and you have no winter setting?

 

Winter Setting is only for the Front Wipers.
For the Rear the Wiper stops only when you push the tailgate Open Button.

I had a MY13 and now a MY15 and for both it worked this way.

 

Thanks for the clarification. I;ve never played with the winter setting on our 405s as we haven;t needed to.

 

The only thing that stopped the rear wiper in a position that left it accessible was popping the rear hatch mid-wipe. This was a pain to get right... That little arm moves fast!

So annoying. I actually paid the shop to do it.

To get the rear wiper to stay in the middle of the window without haveng to open the boot at the exact time this works on my MY15.5

1- turn the ignition on
2- turn ignition off. as its going off hold the right stalk down in the single wipe position
3- while still holding the stalk down turn the ignition back on front and rear wipers will move to the "service" position

leave the key in the car while you change the blades then turn the ignition off to reset them.

I'd watch out for the battery time-out though. if the ignition goes off they will probably return to their normal positions and if you've left them off the window then they are going to hit your bonnet.

personally I'd use winter park for the fronts as i can turn the ignition off and there's no danger of them moving and this if i ever need to do the rear although it would be nice to be able to clean up there once in a while.
