Here’s the deal ladies and gentlemen looking for your extreme expertise in this project. I picked up a 2016 autobiography long wheel base with a 38,500 miles on it for basically nothing.
Mechanically it’s been taken care of well had all of its scheduled maintenance is done on it. It was left outside and it looks like a lot of the clearcoat is going or gone especially around the door frames and it has a dent in the back left quarter panel. So questions to you guys are what should I do with the motor? Crossover pipe? Pulley? Chipping?. Exhaust?. And what about a body kit, and then wrap it or paint? When it gets to that point of whether to wrap or paint, I would like to talk colors with you expert freaks on Range Rovers. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity. I’ve got some money to put into this girl and I want to see her shine.? Looking forward to all of your comments and I appreciate all of your help. Feel free to just point me in another direction if this is not a post or the place for this type of questions. Thank you.

That sounds like a fun project. If I was going to do a wrap on a range rover, I would probably go with this type of gray:

As far as mechanical, from the sounds of it the insurance of a crossover pipe upgrade is smart. If you search a little there are threads on a metal updated part that is available. I haven't read any posts on longevity, but with the reports of the oem plastic becoming brittle, it is probably worth the investment. I have considered tuning, and from what I have read you are rolling the dice with the tune and especially upgrading the pulley, as these aren't bulletproof, overbuilt lumps we have with the 5.0 supercharged. As you will probably find when you have some time in the drivers seat, it is a pretty nice powerplant as is, but the options are there. On the exhaust, stock is indeed tame; however, as I tried to research options, I didn't find anyone who was pleased with aftermarket, even custom, options. Strangely, I didn't find one report of anyone finding a happy upgrade to their sound that motivated me to mess with stock. I'll be curious to see the directions you go if you decide to report back on your project. Good luck!

Thanks for the info

thanks for the information the as always, I am impressed with the knowledge of the people in this forum. I have been driving in about 300 miles as so far plenty of power would love to hear a bit of growl from downshifting in the manual mode, but I will lean on the forum for good options. Like you said, if nothing else, it’s built pretty well as it is.

Looks like the car has some sort of CLEAR PPF on the hood and the door edges.. Those peel right off... There isn’t any clear coat damage, it’s a protection film that they just didn’t take all the way over the hood. The black trim piece on the hood can be replaced or repainted for not much.

That is clear protection film just pull it off. Leave the car white. Don’t put rims on it. Do a paint correction crossover pipes and change fluids. You can upgrade the headlights and taillights to look like 22 and upgrade the center navigation system to an android aftershock unit(google them) and you will basically have a free 2022 with a minimum investment in cosmetic stuff. I’m excited for you and congratulations on the gift. Very rarely do things in life come for free. Enjoy them and appreciate them. Welcome to an exclusive club. Cheers.

That dent can be pulled out and 92% of it would be unnoticeable. Less than 500 bucks to fix it.
