Hey guys,
OK. So my Nav unit is giving me the white screen with the "can bootloader" message. My independent guy looked it over and told me to take it to the dealer for only they have the update softwear. After sitting in the dealer for about 2.5 hours, they come and infom me that I need a new head unit and they will replace it for 3300.00!!! The tech said it kept cutting off and wouldn't let them get the dowload started. Well I wanted to see if I can get some real advice here!
The unit only displays the white screen with bootloader message, the radio comes on, and the amber light is on the power/volume button. This stays on for about 30 sec and then cuts off. It does this whether the truck in running or not. I can get in the truck without the key, push the on button and the screen will display white with message, radio plays for 30 secs then off.
I unhooked the nav unit in the rear along with the radio module. Checked for water damage/corrosion, but saw nothing. Wiped off and plugged back in and no luck. My gut after reading alot of the post here is the amp. Could the amp be malfunctioning and cutting off the entire system? Does the amp power the entire unit including the nav screen? I much rather buy a new amp than a new/used head unit. I have found both on ebay.
Thanks for all ya'lls help. Look forward to hearing some real advice! I cant stand the "stealerships".
Btw I have an 2005 Range Rover HSE.
Thanks again..
