I've only had my 2016 TD6 L405 for about 6 weeks, but I really do NOT care for the smooth spinny nob thing to select Gears... This is truly a first world problem, I realize, but after 11 years - when I am driving - I am just used to resting my hand on the ol' L322 gear shift. I find myself grasping at air in the L405.
When reversing into a parking spot, spinning the knob from drive to reverse is not super tactile and I have ended up in Neutral or even worse, Park on a couple of occasions.
I may get it eventually, but I was curious if anyone knows if you can swap in the gear shift from an L460 or maybe the RR Sport. I am sure there would have to be trim work done - but would the computer/transmission know the difference?
Both are the ZF 8 speed - right?
