Does Anyone use the Steering Wheel Buttons

I have never found the steering wheel buttons of much use. I use my stereo all the time but the buttons are so darn hard to use. Sometimes when I push the buttons, nothing happens or the wrong function happens. Up volume send the volume down sometimes and other times it does nothing at all. There is a delay as well between the button push and the actual operation. I might as well have just reached down and turned the knob.

Anyone else think the steering wheel buttons are next to useless. Now if there was a mute button, that would be useful.

I use them all the time and wished the RRC had a set.

Then again, I'm a two hands on the steering wheel (10 and 2) at all times sort of driver. The only buttons I really use are to select the disc, or to hit the mute/power (it's a big knob, I hit it all the time)

I use mine quite a bit too. Yes, I am guilty of turning the stereo down with one hand and answering the phone with the other. I wish my other car had stereo controls on the wheel but then I wish the Rover could be shifted down from the wheel. Weird that yours sometime work the wrong direction.

Use it the whole time and love it. Right hand always at 2, right elbow on the window ledge, left hand either at 10, arm rest and fingers at 8 or on the gear knob or handbrake (dont ask why). Dont like turning the knobs coz it means I have to look at it. (Can look at the passenger's face and feel comfortable but not at the radio...)

Yours are broken, or are having issues, perhaps your rotary coupler is on its way out, expect an srs light soon, or perhaps a face full of air bag when you change the track!

I use mine almost every day. Before replacing my splintered steering wheel I had the sticky button issue. I gave the steering wheel to the neighbour and he pulled the buttons from the wheel and cleaned the buttons with spray contact cleaner and they work great now. He also refinished the wood to better than factory after some fancy inlay work.

I use them regularly and, like the Captain's, mine occasionally stick slightly on the first push of the day.

They work perfectly as advertised.
