I just put new rotors and pads on mine. I think they are PowerStop pads and they are ceramic. I searched for ceramic pads as I've run them on other vehicles and have been very pleased. As well dust is minimal. Paid $50 for the pads which are front. If you need more info drop me a line.

just got quoted $660 for front and rear pads from the dealer.
Also when I searched the part number on ebay this came up "Brembo front brake pads GENUINE PARTS LR020362"...
My question is, are the pads the dealer selling Brembo's? and am i getting a good deal at $660 for front and rear pads?
Thanks in advance

Thanks to Frisco_TX_RRS for the heads up on the Porterfield brake pads. Installed last week and absolutely zero brake dust on the rims! The stopping performance is so much better as well, hardly any pedal pressure required to slow this heavy sled down.

I just got quoted $1200 from a LR speciality shop for pads and rotors. For that price should I just get them done at the dealer?? I have never done a break job myself but now I'm thinking if parts cost only that much, I might as well save some money and do it myself.

freshmaker, you have a Supercharged. The prices indicated above are for a non-S/C RRS and don't include rotors, which in addition to being expensive if you go OEM, also add a fair amount of labor time to replace (are you sure you need all 4 replaced, though?) Prices for OEM Brembo front pads and rotors for your model are much higher than non S/C models. For an indy shop, $1200 to do all four corners seems perhaps a bit on the high end, but not outrageously so when you consider that parts alone are going to cost you 800 bucks and up (if you stick to OEM rather than aftermarket), even if you source them all yourself from the cheapest online dealers. Ask yourself if your time is worth the $300/400 you'd likely save by doing the job in your garage, and go from there. If you were experienced, it may not only be worth it, it may actually be a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon in your garage. ;) If you have never done a brake job before and you start with having to replace pads and all 4 rotors on a finicky car like the Sport... I wouldn't do it for $400, personally.

If an indy shop in your area charges you that much, I'm guessing a dealer would want at least $1500. You can give them a call and ask to double check, they should quote you a price on the spot.

Umbertob - Thank you for the clarification. I do enjoy working on cars and i was able to do most of my previous projects with very minimal issues. I'm very skeptical of doing the breaks myself just because i haven't done one before and you are right for $400 i should probably save the headache and get it done at the Indy shop. Unfortunately there is only one shop in town that works on Land Rovers and the dealer quoted me $1400 just for the front and rear brake pads and the front rotors. They also said the back rotors might last another 6 months - year depending on my driving habits. So i figured might as well get them replaced together. I asked the Indy shop if they are using OEM parts and they said they use ferodo pads which is OEM also which after reading your previous posts it sounds like its aftermarket OEM replacement. Wondering if i should just buy the parts from Atlantic British and have them do the labor to make sure they are indeed using OEM parts.

On their site, selection for model of car includes RR Supercharged, but not RRS Supercharged. However, after selecting RR Supercharged, what is shown next to brake pads is a list that does include RRS Supercharged. Could you or Frisco_TX-RRS please confirm if we can use their pads with front Brembos in the RRS Supercharged MY06-09? Thank you!

I just put on pagid high carbon front rotors (rockauto) 337mm for HSE ... and EBC ultimax pads from Atalantic British ... and powerstop evolution pads on rear - (rear rotors were at 19mm) so should be good for another pad cycle. Stops smoothly - hard to say if better than OEM yet (but not worse than the ferodos) - will see about dust in a few hundred miles ....

Pretty easy DIY job ... cost me about $200 in parts - ammco had quoted me ~$1000 (inc rear rotors) using ferodo pads ....
