Hi again y’all

After looking endlessly I have come to find out I dont have any power drain at all. I did tests on the battery, cranking and charging system and found I just needed a new battery. I have a 2004 Land Rover Range Rover HSE 4.4L BMW V8. Currently I have a diehard platinum with 900 CCA and 90AH. But I need a replacement with a higher CCA and AH. Im from Massachusetts and in the winter it gets below freezing or lower for atleast 5 months out of the year. I know its been talked about alot on the forums but I want to try to narrow it batteries that I dont have to import from EU if I can, but im open to it if it makes sense or is the best option. Thanks for the help in my prior threads!

Ive looked through some interstate batteries and on forums with them. Some forums might be a little outdated but. I read they might be hazardous even the big ones as it draws alot of power and could cook the battery completely making it leak. I also read and have been suggested anything 950CCA the same problems will keep happening. This is my 3rd battery in 4 years. If I just look through the suggested ones for my vehicle nothing really comes close to what I need or have been suggested unless you have had a different experience.

i am currently running an interstate MTP-49/H8-1 (CCA 730, CA 910) battery, had it for over 5 years with zero issues. vehicle is on a ctek battery maintainer when not in use, although this shouldn't make any difference. i've never heard of the horror stories you're describing, but if you're not comfortable with interstate, bosch has a number of batteries that will fit:
i've had them on other cars, also no issues.

Ill take a look. This battery I got is from august of 2022. It survived on winter well but the last one was bad. I had a power drain but got it fixed. Now the battery is basically on its final legs. I have to jump it every morning. It only has around 220ish CCA of the original 900 left. I don't know how much damage the drain could of done for 2 years since I just got it fixed this summer. But im not 100% sure if I feel comfortable going down further in CCA. Ill take a look at some Bosch batteries too.

I've learned that. The problem is I use it pretty much every single day. Since I got that battery I was still in college so I would be driving in 5 days a week. about 20-30 minutes both ways. In the summer at most, it would sit for about a week. But would always start up. I would drive it an hour + with most of it on the highway maybe twice a week excluding the occasional times I would be going somewhere else. I use my dad's pickup to haul my kayak fishing which is why I don't use it as much in the summer. Should I be putting it on a charger/trickle charge every night? Right now there is no point as the only way it starts is through my jumper battery pack and won't hold a charge no matter how much I drive it. These problems only start around late September or early November when it gets colder at night.

I mean trickle charge with a new battery. I have put it on chargers, now no matter how long I charge it. It won't hold or crank over. Should I just spend the same amount of money on a diehard platinum AGM battery like the one I have and keep it on something every night? I just remember last winter/ previous winters I would have it on a 4 amp charger from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. I would get 2 and if I was lucky 3 good days out of it before it would be too low to start. This was when the battery was still pretty new as well.

I've had the alternator and starter tested multiple times by a mechanic who I trust very well had it for over a week. I also bought a little tester for myself. He told me nothing was wrong with anything and my tester showed me the same. That was also when I had a battery drain with the glovebox light always staying on. So I'm thinking now minus the drain it theoretically should last longer. The last time it lasted a week without starting was in early August of this summer. That must have been the last good of the battery I had left. After that, it started going downhill. Now I can't take it to a shop to do a charging and starting system test. It will barely start again after I drive it and most times won't. I used my jumper pack and I was lucky to do a crank test and charging system test.
