Anyone know if the 1991 RRC had an alarm system.
Been exhausting all the other possible reasons why it won't start, nor the fuel pump work and this idea was proposed.
Anyone?

Dad's 88 had an alarm, but it's possible it could have been aftermarket, as the whole unit sat in the engine bay, next to the brake booster.

I assume it's auto, if you check wether the park / neutral switch has earth, as this is where the factory alarms dissabled the starter motor.

Have you got an led light in the little centre coin tray on the dash?

Check and reset the inertia switch found under the drivers seat (NAS, not sure for the ROW). This would be accessible from the rear of the seat, fold down the carpet and locate the inertia switch plunger.
The inertia switch disables the fuel pump in cases of roll over or a major bump in the road (happened to a few members).

you might be chasing another fault other than alarm, my 94 (which may have a different system to the 93 as its softdash) still has voltage at the fuel pump and will have fuel pressure when the engine is immobilized.

The alarm systems in these cars are fairly simple to overide with an aftermarket, the rave diagrams are actually fairly easy to follow and quite concise in this area, imo.
