Youngbro, Tints are 20%, Only the front two are tinted, the rears are all factory. I believe the factory tints are 25%. The only reason the fronts match is because the front windshield lets in light to give the fronts a lighter effect. 30% tints in the front looked too light to match the rears IMHO.

Mlarco, Got the Rinspeeds off of a fellow forum member who lives local to me. I actually have two sets of 23". I keep one set for spare

Apple, The ride is definitely stiffer than the stock 19" however I also have a set of 315/25/30 tires for these wheels and its night and day between the 305/30/23 and the 315/20/23. I don't mind the ride at all. I was planning on wearing out the 315/25/23 before I got a new set of rubber but tire rack has a blow out price of $158 per tire for the 305s. From what I hear the 305/30/23 is being discontinued by Conti because it is not a common tire. Don't hold me to it but thats what I've heard.

Mlarco, See above, I would pick up the 305s ASAP if you know for sure your getting a 23"x11" wheel.

ya i love the 23" rinspeeds...they just cost alot for a set of 23s thats the only thing why im still thinking about it
Yeah they definitely aren't the cheapest option but sure look amazing. Keep in mind that they are discontinued so you will have to find a used set more than likely.

Looks amazing!

I think there is a vendor selling the 20". I am thinking about a set for my 997. I would love to have the 22" for my RRSC. Alternatively there is a knock offs on ebay...

The 20"s look great on the 997, I was actually lookin at them a few days ago... Too bad they wont fit on my 2001.

I have a white Range Rover classic...2007 model....looking to put the black Rinspeed C5's or black Stormers on it. How do you think that will go with the white Rover?
Matter of taste. Personally, I really like matte black rims on a white car - but with a white stripe accenting the rim right on the outer edge of the lip (otherwise the wheel size is lost to the tire IMO).

See...now wouldn't that look so much better with a thin white stripe running on the outer rim lip? `)

Check eBay. I'll still never understand why people put cheap knock-off cast wheels on such an expensive SUV (although Rinspeeds themselves are actually rather fragile cast wheels)...

you guys need to understand that just because a wheel is cast or forged doesn't make them automatically better or worse than the next wheel.

with wheels, you got two fundamental things to consider in terms of quality: weight and strength.

BBS, a great wheel manufacturer that supplies most to OE but also serves the aftermarket, makes both cast and forged wheels. there are many more cast wheels made for factory OE applications than forged likely due to supply demands and not at all a question on sacrificing quality. the wheel aftermarket, with its surge of new brands catering to the upsized "DUBS" market has absolutely abused the word "forged". i mean, take a look at where the mag ad revenues come from...

many of these new companies spend more of their time/energy marketing their brand than R&Ding their wheels. where is the field research being done? is it all simulation? How many employees do they have on the payroll? do they even have any money left to appropriate funds to their engineering team let alone hire the best and brightest minds in the wheel industry to put out a truly quality product?

there are very few forgeries in this world. japan's got one. germany's got one. maybe the USA, not sure. all i know is, most of these wheels come from the same source and i'm afraid there's just very little data/research/information backing up the integrity of their forging/manufacturing process.

I think the only USA company I trust is HRE, but even they have their nightmare stories even to this day. so pls proceed with caution whether forged or cast. make sure that for our heavy, heavy SUVs, check out load ratings whether forged or cast. be mindful. don't give in to the marketing gimmicks to sound cool as if you know. none of us really know.

I agree with the statement above.

I think it's also fair to say that oversize rims in general are far easier to bend or crack or otherwise damage than smaller OEM wheels. This goes for cast or forged wheels. Remember also they are taking some serious vehicle weight pushing our RRS around.

I've seen some 22" HRE wheels messed up just as bad as a set of cast 22's.

The real benefit I think you can take from it is that with a name-brand wheel, you get the backing of the company. You don't get that really with replicas.

bingo. product should work, but what's the post-purchase experience? support?

when you crack a wheel a year or two or three down the line, which happens to the best of us oh mr pothole, is your company going to be around? insolvency is a b!tch with these fly by night wheel companies... cuz that means you'll have to buy a whole new set v. exchanging for just one at your cost.

money matters in so many ways. gotta pay to play as they say
