That's very strange, I've been running straight pipes since Nov 2018, no droning.
Yes, it's loud at startup and when you want it to be loud, but cruising on the highway is quiet.
It must be noted that I only removed the resonator and centre silencer, and kept the rear mufflers in place.
What kind of vehicle you driving? Am talking in regard to SVR. It is super loud and in my opinion obnoxious. I removed the resonator and centre silencer and kept the rear SVR mufflers when I tried it. Way too much and killed my opinion the SVR branding. It didn't fit the car.
I put back the centre silencer and left the resonator off. The car sounds good and pops and burbles nicely but a little to much raspy in my opinion at times.
I am considering putting an X pipe in place of the centre silencer and MAYBEEE putting back the resonator. I dont know.
I also unplugged the module that controls the exhaust valves so they stay open all the time. Actually I didnt unplug it. I installed a kill switch. HAHA I took the ground that is connected to the module and I put a latching switch on it so I can control if I want it to be functional or not. 99% of the time I have it deactivated. I did this for a couple of reasons. Valves stay open all the time, they would be already open when I start up or even remote start from the app. I don't have to worry about how the ECU controls the valves because the ECU dictates how much to open and close the valves base on RPMs.
ALSO a feature that I hate. Land Rover does an imitation exhaust sound through the car speakers. Horrible idea. You can notice it when you open the valves through the cars lower screen. For me I never have to press the exhaust button on the screen because my exhaust is already open. ECU doesn't see the signal that the exhaust is open therefore I dont get the noise through the speakers. ONLY when I put the car in Dynamic mode.
I did quite a few upgrades to this beauty.
