A bit of background first:
Have had the unit installed for a while now but was having issues with the GPS from day one. I bought and used the fakra splitter, which seems to work fine with the original head unit nav, but for some reason won't give me a GPS fix on the Android head.
Ray has been helpful through the troubleshooting sending me things to try and suggestions.
Turns out after all this that the RRS's original GPS antenna is not working with the unit because after I tested it with a separate GPS antenna I can get a GPS fix..

Have any of you guys had any problems connecting it to your original LR GPS roof antenna?

You might have a bad unit? I used the splitter and my GPS works great, even with android auto (using the phone gps) and the built in apps (using the original antenna). Over a year in and no issues at all.

 

Hi there, new to this thread and I wish I had found it earlier! I purchased a 10.25 screen from Euronavigate (sorry Ray) and whilst the unit is great, I have had a few niggles which have not been satisfied by their support. Firstly the install instructions were rubbish and after many hours i have almost a fully functional system. There is only one issue I have left and it still baffling me. That is I only have volume control on my steering wheel controls, i cannot skip tracks. I have tried both "wheel one" and "wheel two" and makes no difference. I do realise that the Euronavigate Android 10 (10.25") may be different to the normal Merryway systems but anyone out there with any ideas how to get these working?

 

I can't skip tracks when using android auto, I have to click on the screen. I can control the volume with the steering wheel controls. When listening to the radio I can change stations and change the volume (using the original interface). I haven't tried usb loaded tracks.

Thanks for your swift reply. And it seems to confirm my suspicions that it seems that this is not a function that cannot be controlled from the steering wheel.

I purchased through Ray and am hoping to get some help from him, but in the meantime, I was wondering if anyone had figured out a way to remap the main screen tiles or the order they appear in? Right now, my CarPlay tile doesn't do anything and I was hoping to make the navigation tile open up either waze or just CarPlay.

I figure someone has some knowledge about the android system that can at least point me in the right direction.

Also, when using CarPlay, I have the car's bluetooth connected and not Android's. Is this how others are connecting? Will the sounds from Waze blend in with the regular radio if I am listing to FM and have Waze going through CarPlay?

Call me and I will do my best to assist you with those issues. I think you mentioned that you did a factory reset when I last spoke with you. You might have some settings that are off and some files that need to be restored.

Hi! I have the Android 9.0 version from Ray. Is anyone else having issues on a hot day with it? It's usually when it has sat under the sun for a while or during long drives... The unit starts jittering, becomes unresponsive, and then reboots.

 

Need help removing the android logo at start boot and also my sim network is permanently on X, during installation there is good signal but after all couples in the network goes back dead. Might get a mobile WiFi dongle and leave permanently on the car But I need help removing the android logo at start UK 🇬🇧

 

Hi you need go into setting and key in 000000 as password to access. Did you get to this stage?

hello everyone. I recently just installed the android unit.

For everyone that has the an android unit. Do you guys hear a hissing sound while in AUX mode. I know this is because of the Landrover OEM unit but I was told that the AUX is a listening channel and would hear a hissing sound when there is no input playing. I was told that the hissing would completely go away once an audio input starts to play through the AUX channel. Is this the case? I can still hear a hissing with the music is playing.

 

Try turning the volume of your source down and the volume of the android unit up.

I have no hissing on my 10.25 system.

 

I always hear a hissing sound whenever I am not connected to carplay. Turning down the volume sokve the problem but I shall give this a try. Thanks.

 

Has anyone updated from the 10.25 to the new 12' screen? I have the 10.25 one and it seems a nice upgrade specially seeing how quickly it boots up (the old 10.25 takes a while) but wondering if its truly worth to upgrade.

Also, for 14-17 we'd need a new panel (since the one for the 10.25 is just one piece vs 2 pieces on the 12) and wondering how good is the color match and leather quality of these new panels?

 

Hi, I have my unit installed and everything works amazing, with the exception of the microphone. It doesn't convey any commands to unit. Is there a setting I have missed??

 

I think it depends on how you're trying to use the mic and engage it. If its for carplay / android auto, it should work.

 

Did any of you upgrade the factory cameras when you updated the head unit? Or is the clarity better with just the head unit, at best the cameras are grainy in stock form.

 

I think there was a thread before about upgrading the rear camera and currently I dont think there is any upgrade available??
The 2018+ models have a newer camera but its not compatible with earlier models I believe.
Would be interested in a camera upgrade as the original one is rubbish.

I presume you mean metric to Imperial?
