Anyone have any idea of the time frame for a new heated windshield? Dealer said they don't even have a part number for them.
I got a stupid crack!

Is this for your 460? How long did it take for Safelite to get you a replacement?I would call Safelite and tell them you want OEM glass and see if they can source one for you.
I had mine replaced by them with the OEM option.

Thanks King. I think the GM is more frustrated than me. He's been trying hard to make it right, fixing the trim etc. He asked me a few weeks ago if he could buy it back from me and he can get me a G550. I said maybe. Now he's asking if he can just buy it now with all this windshield crap.I had a branch fall on the rear window of my mercedes E63s amg wagon and the only way to get the glass was through the dealer. No aftermarket companies like Safelite had compatible glass. Unfortunately that's probably the case here and I'm sure it's not easy to change so the dealer should probably do it in case they break something else. Usually the dealers bring in a glass specialist to do these installs as well.
Sorry that happened. I would definitely be frustrated.
Hello. did you have any problems getting the glass comp/insurance comp use OEM MOPAR glass in order to keep the jeep icon in the lower right-hand corner? Did you have to pay the difference of did the ins. co. do it for you without hassle? Or did it not matter to youI was being rhetorical and exaggerative. I wouldn't get in anyones face. But if someone returned a car to me after repairing it (which came with problems to begin with) and did a half ass job - it tells me 3 things.
1) They are incompetent (now I wouldn't trust their ability to repair my car in the future)
2) They did it on purpose (now I wouldn't trust to do any business with them)
3) They didn't care one way or another (they shouldn't be in business)
Any of the above can't be rectified by a hand shake and letting them fix it and walk away quietly.
Don't need to pop their kneecaps 1960s style - but if you want them to respect you at all - and thus respect everyone - knowing everyone would be of similar mindset - it has to be more than a private "please fix it right".
Years ago - MB Manhattan serviced my S Class - and banged it into a wall. I didn't notice it till I got home because it was on the right side and I entered on the drivers side. Similar happened to a friend of mine. Dealership swore they didn't do it - and sent us both (at different times of course) stills from their CC footage. They had doctored it for us both. My friend went in - as you said above - calm - rational - peaceful - and what happened? Nothing. He had to pay for the damage because the dealer stood firm in the face of no resistance beyond a calm "This wasn't there when I dropped it off and i didn't damage it on the way home". That was when I really learned - sometimes you can't be a gentleman. I took a different approach. They fixed it - and they demonstrated their remorse and regret.
