Window Tint (and PPF)

After a few years of ownership I finally got the driver and passenger windows tinted - just wish I would have done it when I first purchased the vehicle. I did black PPF the upper soon after purchase since I thought the Eiger Gray looked a little bland, especially coming from my last RR which was Carpathian Grey.

20% tint to match the rear (factory) windows. Just wanted to share since I've seen previous threads on this topic and hunted quite a bit to find good examples on L460s with tint but they weren't as easy to find as I had hoped.

Window tint and paint protection film (PPF) serve different purposes but work really well together when done right. PPF is typically applied to painted surfaces to guard against rock chips, scratches, and road debris, while tint is installed on the windows to reduce glare, heat, and UV exposure. If you’re planning to do both, it’s best to apply the PPF first and let it fully cure before tinting. That way, you avoid any risk of moisture or tools affecting the film’s edges. Also, make sure you're using high-quality materials for both—cheap tint can fade or bubble, and low-grade PPF might yellow or peel over time. Done properly, the combination not only improves aesthetics but also adds real functional protection to your vehicle.

Personally, I really like the two-tone black/gray PPF/wrap you did. It's a little unorthodox, sure, but I think it's definitely unique. It gives Maybach/Rolls vibes, and Eiger Gray was the perfect color to do this with. Do you have any more pics you could share with us from different angles? I'd love to see. I've only seen maybe one other photo of this done to a Range Rover.

For my tint, I think I did 15% all around, and 30% on the front windshield if I'm remembering correctly. TBH, the 15% is a little dark for my taste sitting inside the vehicle. Probably should have stuck with the 20% for better outside viewing at night. Also, I forgot to have them tint the panoramic roof. I never open the shade on it because I can't stand the sun shining in from on top of me, but I think if I had a really, really dark tint on top, I would enjoy it a lot more.
