In this review, she say that there is a bit more wind noise then anticipated, and a good amount of road noise from those low-profile tires (23s), can anyone confirm this with 22s

I know you guys are talking about the L460, just to let you know, I drove my 2020 L405 SCV8 on the highway from Batumi to Tbilisi to the speed limiter of 222 kph (about 139 mph) and only above 200 kph (125mph) did the wind noise around the A pillars, outside mirrors and the front of the sunroof area began to get real loud. Otherwise it was fairly quite up to 200kph/125mph. If that's the case with the L460, I might think about something else next year.

So despite being booked in for 2 months, they lost the double sided tape they had bought and now need to re-book to have the work completed (the foam and filling was done). That said, what they have done already has made a SIGNIFICANT difference. There is no noise at 50mph now and at 70+ it is much less intrusive. I would say 60% improvement generally. The car feels much more cosseted and less "exposed" somehow now - especially as cars drive past in the rain which was very loud before.

So if you think there is an issue, get it done. It is now quieter than the X5 to a reasonable degree.

I brought my car in a month ago, with the printed Technical Service bulletin in hand (thank you forum). A quick test drive confirmed they did need to perform the bulletin. I was told that they'd need the car for three days, as they had to order the parts. On the third day they said the parts were delayed and i'd need to bring the car back. I brought the car back in today and was promised the service would be completed same day. Late in the day today they texted advising that while doing the bulletin they realized that the car was built minus the below pads in the doors. I needed the car back tonight as i have a business trip tomorrow, so I'll now need to take the car in again probably in a week to get these pads added. I'm at the point that i'm going to talk to the dealer about taking the car back. I've said it before, but now my wife is on board with this. We have a 550e Autobiography on order, so i'm thinking to take some time away from Rover until that arrives and hopefully is built correctly. I've had multiple Range Rovers for over 15 years and never had even one issue until now. From the day I bought the car, there have been problems that they are continuously having to fix.

It’s not clear to me either… the dealer texted you, after your second visit, that the car “was built without these pads”? I thought that was already established hence the noise? Why exactly they couldn’t get the job done, is it because there was additional foam that was missing from those described in the tech bulletin?

Here's what it's supposed to look like.

Here is the text my dealer sent along with the pictures.

"I just wanted to let you know that we will need the car one more day. Although we got every single piece needed to complete the this service bulletin. What we have realized is. There is a pair of pads missing on each door panel that more than likely also the cause of how excessive the noise is. Here is a photo if what the panel should look like even before adding the adding adhesive."

Mine is back in having the balance of the soundproofing completed. Will advise of full impact when all done.

Every time I have taken it in there has been a recall due - two this time which makes it 3 I think so far? Seems a lot for circa 12 months of ownership!
HI Alex
What are the recalls?
I know of only one - the tailgate light cables fraying and needing insulating.
interested t9 know what else as my car is going int9 the dealer on Thursday to have - slow puncture / leaking valve fixed, rear task light going on by itself, etc

Not sure of the exact details - I have received 2/3 "Urgent Action" letters and the two/three times I have dropped it in for wind noise stuff they have said a recall is due. Mine is an early PHEV so maybe more than others.

Looking forward to getting it back and [not] hearing full wind noise mitigation measures.

So got the RR back after having had the bulletin completed. 0 discernible wind noise below 65-70 mph. 80 mph I would say it is a normal background - generally quiet but not silent. Definitely no longer a feeling like a window is cracked open etc. No issue with ABS noise.

Only problems now is that indicators are double speed and at night the passenger light back right randomly comes on!

Push your dealers to do the work!

Hi Alex

So the latest on my LWB SV after several trips pt the dealership - Hendy Christchurch.
  • slow puncture was nails in tyres so it is what it is.
  • wind noise - as commented before, I have wind noise above 125-130kph but it's bearable. Dealer told me it's normal and for now can't really imagine getting it fixed.
  • road noise - negligible with the 22in wheels and ContiSilent tyres I switched to. Amazing Rolls Royce like magic carpet ride.
  • electrical - I have the rear left reading light come on by itelf. After 3 attempts by dealership, they claimed it is a setting (press and hold for 10 secs by light, then said long press to turn off orange light by windows) but finally they accepted it's a fault and have ordered a new switch (in armrest) and light above.

I have not had indicators coming on at double speed BUT the loan RR they gave me did and the one before plus both had intermittent cooland warning lights coming on.

Seems the days of electrical faults with JLR are not over!
