TDV6 vs SDV6

I have the 3.0L TDV6 with an advertised 183kw in my 2015 SE. The SDV6 has an advertised 225kw but from what i can see they are virtually the same engine so I’m assuming it’s just a tune that makes up the difference.

I’m not chasing more power but I mean if there’s an extra 42kw to be gained from just changing tunes that’s a no brainer easy upgrade.

Has anyone else with a TDV6 done this? Is it a simple process?

The TDV6 was a single-turbo setup, IIRC, whereas the SDV6 was twin parallel sequential turbos?

I was looking a a tdv6 and was going to tune It if I got it. AP velocity offers a tune to take it from 254hp to 322hp. The people that I spoke to with it said the best part was the reduction in the throttle response time as the factory tune is sluggish off the line.

I have thier tune on my SC 5.0 and it is very easy to flash the ECU and to flash it back to stock if you need to.

Actually the TDV6 and SDV6 are the same engine core and both twin turbos. they draw more power out of the SDV6.

I had a look at the L494 workshop manual and could only find reference to a “SDV6 Hybrid”, which I’ve never heard of?

Looking at the specs for my year, they appear identical.

Just did a quick google for VelocityAP and looks like they’re not around anymore? “Scuderia Autoart” comes up instead and they don’t have anything on their website for an L494.

Am i looking at the wrong place?

Not sure why it wouldn’t be the first return. Maybe because you’re searching from Australia? Their full name is Velocity Automotive Performance but everyone abbreviates it to AP and that’s how they spell it on their website URL.

You can just click the link in my post and it will take you to their site and the correct page for your tune.

Thanks Joedady805 and Jimbg.
I looked at the hood on the driver side, it has the AD blue filler cap (in black)...so I guess it's a TD6...
