Does the buckle unbuckle nine times quick with the ignition on, engine off trick work? That was the fix on earlier models.

 

No. It does not work on new model. That's the first thing I did try as soon as I got one.

 

Not so far. I haven’t tried again since recent 3.3.0 install.

 

Probably something that has to be disabled in diagnostics then.

 

• Get in driver seat.
• Close door.
• Turn on ignition, but don't start the Defender (no foot on brake pedal).
• Leave in Park.
• Hold down the red release button on the seat belt clip.
• Slowly slide the seat belt buckle in and out of the clip 10 times till you hear a chime.
• (I did the slide in and out taking 1-2 seconds between each repetition).
• Turn the Defender off and it should be silent next time you drive.

Got this from a google search.....You might have to try a few times.....

 

That definitely doesn’t work for me. Maybe I’m doing it wrong but it says defender in the description which is the wrong truck.

 

The instructions are basically the same for all models...even though is says Defender. Keep trying it you may get lucky.

 

These instructions worked on L405, but not on L460. I've tried to slide the buckle 9 ..then 10 times...with the same result. I'm sure there is a way to do it, and someday we'll see a video on Youtube how.

Probably second most annoying. Most annoying is how bad the rain sensing wipers don’t work at all. With the original software they just went on hi at the first drop of rain. With the 3.2.0 software they barely go on. The sensor doesn’t work at all

 

It works in my car, no complains. Have you visited your dealer to point it out to them ? Looks like bad sensor to me.

 

I have the latest software. Your posts make no sense man.

 

Look if the vehicle can't be fixed you have no choice but to take to dealers and have Tech plug in SDD and change some program in the ECU....that seems to be you only option and if the Tech says he's done that...well it's beyond me and you!

 

You posted a workaround to turn off the seat belt chime for a Discovery to use on a 2023 Range Rover. It doesn't work on the 2023 Range Rover. Then when I stated that it doesn't work you said "keep trying" and "it looks like I need a software update". None of that makes sense. Please don't post advice that you have no idea if it works.

 

Some members have tried a number of time to do the procedure i posted with Defender in it and after quite a few times it end up working so i'm sorry if it didn't for you. we are only on hear to try and help members.

 

Members with a 2023 Range? There’s not one post where that’s the case. Maybe I’m not searching properly. If so let me know where and which member that worked for with a mark V Range Rover.

Does anybody have any info on disabling the seat belt chime in the L460? The parking sensors are abnormally loud. Like they were made for old deaf people.

 

The easy solve for this (on any car) is to buy a seat belt buckle (without the seat belt attached) and just leave it inserted in the seat belt receptacle.

 

That's a bypass, not a fix - unless you're not interested in the safety features the seatbelts bring.

The chiming is obviously a safety feature, but if you're getting in and out of the car constantly inside a private community, it's really annoying..

 

No other way - Land Rover killed the other method several years ago.

I ship a loaner laptop straight to your house. Very quick and easy. Never had an issue with warranty. Can also bump power and activate pixel headlights properly.

I asked/payed a LandRover specialist garage with the propper tools (SDD Pathfinder soft and paid subscription) to disable the seatbelt chime in front, upgrade the power of my P460e to P550e and some other stuff.
I used to code these kind of things myself with my Mini/BMW in the past via OBDII port. But it seems that Landrover has managed to better secure this.
