SDD broken?

Despite my greatest effort to shut off all updating and such nonsense, my stupid laptop ran updates and now my SDD hangs at the load screen and then closes. Do I need to remove and reload the whole thing to fix this?

2 things. Windows keeps changing the date back and SDD still doesn't get past the load screen. I went through the control panel. If you know a way that makes it stick maybe it might work, but I can't get it to work.

I went into settings and the control panel and turned off any automatic function I could find regarding the the time and date. There was never a box to "save" or "apply", just an "ok". If I restart the computer to see if that saves it, it just reverts to the current time and date. Likewise if I immediately try to open SDD after date change, it hangs on the SDD loading screen for a couple minutes then closes and the time and date will have reverted to current. SO. FRUSTRATING. I appreciate the help.

I'm sorry, I cannot get it to work. I have it downloaded, but it's asking me to elevate something or that the directory is incorrect. I read the brief instructions, but there is terminology and actions that while basic to others, I just don't know, which is probably the vast majority of them. I thought if I selected the file with the full install, that would do it, but no luck. I don't know which other JLR file to select for the program to run. I thank you for your help thus far and hope you don't give up on me just yet.

I removed everything again thinking I may have missed a file somewhere. Upon attempt #2, I got the message that my Adobe reader and SVG viewer are out of date. Even though I uninstalled and deleted all the files I could see related to it, it seems to be seeing another installation? I could be misreading the message. Windows also continues to see this as unconfirmed and keeps trying to stop the file. I really hate Microsoft right now....Sorry for the complaining, but this is killing me. One thing I never found before this endeavor is what the minimum requirements are for the laptop. I am sure mine is slower than it wants, but I don't know. At what point will it simply not run? I had V165 running and then it just wouldn't open. No clue. I have tried every solution I can find to stop updates and to roll back the system date but Windows keeps "fixing" itself.

I will gladly give the patch a shot. What is the order of installation of the various programs? Do you happen to have a link for the latest Adobe SVG viewer and Adobe Readers? I thought they were both available for free, but can't find any good links.

Apologies for keeping you waiting 😶 The patch is to make the program work for "free", without the ability to update modules.

You'll want a clean install of Windows, install the vcredist AIO package, and then install SDD v167 as normal. You can press ignore or whatever similar option for SVG and Adobe readers, the program doesn't actually need it to install, or work..

I understand there isn't a ton of info out there, I'd be more than willing to to help in greater detail over email or phone. If you're wanting to circumvent the install altogether, I have an extra laptop with SDD installed I keep as a backup. Everything on it is tuned specifically to be used for SDD or Pathfinder, plus its built on a 17" MBP..for reasons (it looks nice? big screen?)

Wonder if its obvious I didn't do well in sales..

I'd love to circumvent the install but doubt I can afford to at the moment. How much for it? Also, email seems like it might be easiest to start, since the install goes in phases, kinda. The laptop is pretty new, just not fast. Admittedly cheap, since I had no idea what was needed. It's Windows 10 Pro. What do you mean by "clean install"?

Yeah let's see if we can get your setup working. If you could DM me I can go into further detail on an install. "Clean install" refers to a fresh Windows install with nothing else. I have a complete custom .iso that I use.
