Removing the Rear Seat Entertainment System

I have a new 2024 Range Rover Autobiography and it came with the Rear Seat Entertainment System. The screens protrude too much and I would like to have them removed. I realize there will be a "hole" in the back of the front seats where the mounting bracket attaches, but I can make a plastic cover using 3D printing that will cover that.

The question is: How do you remove the Rear Seat Entertainment screens and brackets?

I checked with a dealer and they said, "no, we can't remove them." But I've heard from another dealer that they could be removed.

Anyone have experience with this? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Greetings from across the pond jft1000,

If you look at the parts diagram below, it looks quite easy,

I know someone on the uk forum did the same on a 2021 and had a small patch made up so i assume quite easy. I personally wouldn't think it would make any difference the screens being plugged in or not, but who i am to say.

If you tilt the screen forward there should be a small pad on the top you can remove which houses the fixings just like the l405 and then upscrew unplug and cover the hole left. Just had a look on mine

Just taken a picture of mine, shown point where you need to prize open

Good luck

Drfenn, do you by chance have a link to the post for the person that made the cover for the range Rover? I have the exact same range rover and have now taken off the television, but I'm at a complete loss on where to get a cover and the Kydex option is so out of my skillset that it just won't work for me

Thx much!

I don't know. I couldn't figure out how to remove the revamped plastic in the P550e. I would guess it does not cause errors messages in earlier models, as many people have done it. There is a grub screw under the screen, I'm fairly confident that is what is holding the cover in place, but don't want to undo it without being sure. Having something rattling around in there would probably be the final straw for my wife and this car.

If anyone has a diagram/link to a diagram showing the new plastic shrouds and how they clip together, I'd very much appreciate it.
