Question on Ski and Snowboard Carrier

I know Ski Carriers have been discussed in several threads but I have a few specific questions around the mounting of these to the cross bars.

I’m looking to get the Thule Universal Pull Top (telescoping arms) Ski Carrier 91726 and have a couple of quick questions. Here is the item I want; it looks like the same as the factory LR006849 http://www.thule.com/en-US/US/Products/Snowsports/SkiCarriers/92726-Universal-Pull-Top

My questions are:
  1. I’m looking to take advantage of the metal “T” mount system on the OEM crossbars that slides into the groove. Does anyone know if the 91726 comes with the metal “T” mount? This allows you to skip utilizaing the rubber strap shown in the picture.
    1. If not, do you know which bar accessories I would need to make this work?
      1. I was thinking this is what I might need but doesn’t seem to include the spacers http://www.thule.com/en-US/US/Products/Base-Racks/LoadAccessories/XADAPT2-Adapter-Kit
  2. If you order this rack from the dealer, does it come with the metal “T” mount already? Anyone know the going MSRP for the LR006849?
Thx……..ArkFortyCal

I installed a set of Whispbar Crossbars from Yakihama. They are supposed to be a lot quieter than other crossbars. On top of that I have a set of the 4snowboard holder from Thule.
The crossbars are in a set of rails that were also installed. If you notice they sit right next to where the OEM rails will sit. My set up is not OEM and it probably saved me a ton.
The rails from the dealer sit a bit higher than the ones I have. The crossbars look almost identical to the Whispbars Yakima. The Whispbars may be able to plug directly where the OEM rails will go. They may have an adapter for it.
FYI: I powder coated my crossbars which is why they are black.

Ark, you probably have your answers by now, but I grappled with the issue also. There was no Thule solution. And I don't think Thule even made feet that fit in the factory rails. So in the end, I went with the LR factory rails and crossbars on my 2012 RRS. Even though the crossbars are removable, it is an all-or-nothing deal (around $700 if memory serves?). My ski rack looks exactly like BlackMamba's otherwise -- same rack, same mount kit. I had the ski/board racks already, but had to purchase the adapter kit for about $30 to change the feet out (I had Thule load bars on my previous vehicle). The whole contraption is way too tall for my tastes and it frustrates me. I barely clear garage doors and frequently bump the "low clearance" signs, but never actually hit any beams or anything. And it definitely has drag at highway speeds.

It does not come with a metal "T" mount.
