Happened to my a few weeks ago, they (LR-shop) just 'unplugged' my battery for like two minutes, and when they plugged the battery back in, it worked again! Just needs to get re-programmed.

...easier to just pull the fuse...wait two minutes, and replace. Works most of the time, so I hear. My '05 has never had any problems, so I wouldn't know first hand.

 

Happens a lot from what I hear. Someone said just press the button twice very quickly and it might fix it but it didn't for me. I brought it into the dealership and they fixed it (they just said they reprogrammed it).

 

Im the one who said press the buttons twice very fast (and I mean fast) - that worked.

It almost appears like a feature that allows you to swing one mirror in as needed.

Is there a way for the mirrors fold automatically when the doors lock?

 

Thanks for the replies and the advice. I can't seem to get it to reset with any of these methods so I will take it into the dealers early next week to get them to reset it. Thanks again.

I know this is an old thread but thanks to it, I managed to solve the problem of my out of sync mirrors by using the rapid pressing of the switch method. I had to do it a few times but it did eventually work.

 

Same happened to me yesterday. I'm off out to try the 'quick double press' a few times and will let you know how I get on....

 

3 tries and 3rd time lucky!

Did the "double press" and they re-synced.

 

Thank you guys for this thread. The same happened to me, altough it was because someone managed to smash my mirror in the parking lot so hard i had to get the glass replaced (to a non-electrochromic one!). The knockout was so hard it probably de-synced the motor itself or something, because the double press trick nor unplugging the fuse seems to be working. I guess I'll have to do some deep disassembling or getting it repaired in a garage.

Hi everyone,
I fixed and identical problem with the 54 Plate TD6 just yesterday - This is exactly what I did:
[1]: Start the car and wind down the drivers window (Just in case!)
[2]: Went round to the passenger side and pulled out Fuse #24 (Green 30Amp)
[3]: Went back to the drivers side and pressed the mirror folding/opening button just once as normal
Both mirrors should now be in the same position.
[4]: Went back to the passenger side and pulled out Fuse#11 (Green 30Amp)
[5]: Wait 60 seconds.....
[6]: Pop both fuses back in
[7]: Go back to the drivers side and press the mirror button again - .....wey hey!!

Hope this helps anyone who has a similar problem.

any solution to this mirror problem. Mine close and open again when the button is pushed once. They will not stay folded. Thx

 

microswitch need to be replaced.

 

many thanks to all, the double-press fixed my HSE.

 

So annoying.... took me 7 double presses to get them back, but at least that was easier than looking up fuses, pulling, repeat, blah blah blah
