Also, as always, I do wonder if these updates are cumulative for those of us who don’t get the updates in between. I have asked JLR this many times and have never gotten a straight answer, depending on who I ask.
I'm still on 4.2.0 as well and when I had the car in for oil change a couple of weeks ago asked dealer to push the 4.2.0b update and they said there was nothing available in their computer and I was all up to date.
I keep getting reminded about this update each time I start the car. I’m on the road with 0% battery. Planning to update in a few days once I get home and the car is fully charged. Right strategy?
The SW requires a minimum of 25% charge, the charger to be unplugged, and all the windows/doors to be closed/locked. I successfully updated my p550e with 40% charge this morning. The update took about 30min to complete.
I actually noticed a difference in the floaty feel. It's mostly removed. And the active roll is just a bit more aggressive so it doesn't roll as much as it used to. Great upgrade for me!
Just installed the update last night and it resolved my check engine light that showed up on Nov 19th. Our dealership had no openings until Dec 11th....but I guess it worked out with this software update. If I brought my vehicle in, they said it would have to stay overnight to do a full diagnostic and no loaner....so I'm glad I didn't have to bring it in. Glad the OTA updates are happening!
It seems like steering wheel heating changed to less aggressive with latest update. It's not heating to unpleasantly hot level any more, at least I have this initial impression. Time will show.
I have noticed since the upgrade that my pre-heating of the cabin no linger is effective. Pre upgrade the cabin ore heating was amazing making the car warm when I entered. Now each morning the pre heating activates for thirty minutes as planned but it is not warm when I get in. It also seems to take a long time for the car to get warm when I turn it on properly. I am
hoping that when the battery recalibrates and the ev mode is running smoothly again that this will resolve itself. Does anyone else notice this?
Noticed exactly this same this morning and yesterday post update. Plus during driving climate is noisier than previously/air flow higher/can't be reduced with vent settings. Think the update might have thrown a spanner in the works for the climate software. Rest of the update (sound system, subtle handling tweaks) is excellent
I've intentionally checked pre-heating today, it works fine on my car. Maybe cars without HVAC controls are affected with this glitch. Mine is older and heating/ventilation are working fine.
My car was starting with ICE for the whole day today and also was blowing cold air while preconditioning. I hope it's not some broken "matrix", but something temporary :/
Freaking hate it. Why all Porsches and Mercedeses I have in my household are always working the way they should, without these software upgrade glitches?! 👿
Yeah it sucks that this happens in the middle of winter. I spent last night looking at Bentayga reviews but I know when the time comes I will just buy a new range 🤣
Ever since the software update the EV doesnt work normally but the update said it would shorten the time that that the EV mode doesnt work properly. It seems to have extended it!
However the update
seemed to have sorted out a temporary glitch i had where the lane keep assist kept turning off every other drive for a few weeks.
2025 550e AB here with 1100 miles. No issues with AC/vents/fan or pre-conditioning post update. No EV issues.
I live at 11000’/3300m in elevation with temps now consistently below 32f/0c. Car is in garage kept at 40-44f/7c. These conditions alone since I don’t pre-condition when garaged create an ICE over EV need initially but once on the road for about 5-10 mins EV takes over. On my warmer days, the few we had since I bought this, around 60f/13c EV runs from the start.
Did anyone receive a new update today? I was on 4.2.1_ and this morning an update popped up for 4.2.1__
Exactly the same release notes. Updated quickly and haven‘t noticed any differences.
Did it prompt you to update or was it automatic? I had a lot of problem with my heater not working when I updated to 4.2.1 in December, then it magically started working perfectly a few days ago. I've not noticed any update notifications.
