P550e question

Greetings ! I am putting together an order for a 2025 RR SE P550e plug in hybrid.
Most of my daily driving is in town so the 50ish mile electric is ideal for me a majority of the time. I currently have a bmw x7 and really enjoy the vehicle. I have been wanting to find something that offers both luxury inside and sits up a little higher. I narrowed down to Gwagon and P550e.

I am wanting the Perlino interior along with the Ebony/Perlino Textile Headlining.

Is the headlining a sueded type fabric ? I have alcantera headliner in the x7 and really find this is a beautiful touch.

Anyone with experience that can compare the x7 with the RR regarding the drive and interior would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance !

JP, I went from an X7 to a Range Rover.

These are two really different feeling vehicles, and the Range Rover certainly is more of a true luxury feel. The X7 will always feel more "solid" and well put-together than a Range Rover. And, those of us who are now Range Rover owners have a bit of patience for "British engineering". But, you will love the Range Rover, and really grow into it.

I have the 2024 P550e PHEV, and I get about 60 miles or range consistently. I keep it in EV mode for city driving, then select Hybrid once I get on the freeway or have a long trip. I also owned an BMW XM Hybrid, which toggled between EV and Gas with a different algorithm.

As far as the fabric, I have an Autobiography, which is leather headliners, but I believe your SE will have fabric, not suede.

all, these cars don't go anywhere near 50 or 60 miles EV.
I assume it depends on driving conditions and roads. Mine is a 2024 P550e. I dont know if there was any increase in EV range from the 2023 model. Was the 2023 called P440e?
I drive 25 miles on highway and 5 miles on 35 mph roads. All are fairly flat roads. I get 50 to 52 miles on EV every day to and from work. I drive at 65 to 70+ mph on the highway.

I recently traded in my 2024 Alpina XB7 for a 2024 full size RR 530SE, I am very pleased. The Alpina was an amazing vehicle, too racy for me and no off road ability really. I was regularly hitting 112 mph in my daily commute-and this was just the low side ability of the beast. HA HA. I came from a L405 and couldn't find a 2024 RR listed only at MSRP until last month. The level of luxury in the RR is another level. Speed and dynamic abilities absolutely Alpina. The German engineering was amazing. I prefer the RR.

There you have it. If you assume that the charge indication (58%) is linear related to the range remaining (49km), then you can calculate the total range to be 84km (52.5 miles) which was the indication at full charge before I left. I didn't drive that fast all the time, but it's as I said above.

I installed a level 2 charger today - nema 14-50 Emporia. The level 1 was fine but usually took all night to charge up full. I am currently at 820 miles with half a tank of original gas. I have done 2 out of town trips about an hour out and back each time thus the 1/2 tank consumed. Loving everything about this p550e thus far and exceeds my previous x7 other than the sound system (x7 had bowers & wilkins diamond surround)

I recently had some longer drives from Toronto to Prince Edward Island and back. That's more than 1,000 mi one way. It was all highway driving in HYBRID mode. I just looked it up how long the typical fuel stops were and it's close to 800km, which is 500 mi. I'm sure you could stretch it more by driving slower.

I just received my P550E hybrid. I have had it for just a few days, so obviously no maintenance issues yet. It's a lovely piece of machinery - very luxurious and smooth. It just glides down the road without being floaty (I am driving in comfort mode). The electric range is excellent, I seem to be getting 50 miles in a mix of city street/highway driving. Very very very comfortable ride.

The BMW was not an option for me due to lack of spare tire. We already have a PIH without a spare tire which we have taken on a three multi-thousand mile trips. I wanted a vehicle with a full size spare that I could take most places - and the RR/RR Sport were basically the only options for me.

My first post here:

I recently purchased a 25 Velar HSE and absolutely love it. So much so that I just placed an order for a 25 p550e Autobiography in Constellation Blue (SV color), SV Bespoke 22inch wheels style 1072, Caraway interior, Duo tone headlining, and ebony carpet. Just about every other option too. Looks crazy on the build site. Looks like it will be arriving over the summer.

My question is about the reliability factors. I have seen countless videos on concerns about all Range Rovers. But I think with any brand, the more "stuff" that is packed into it, the more that can have an issue. I have had issues with every car I have ever purchased that needed service outside of normal maintenance. So are my concerns about the long term reliability of Range Rovers over blown or basically equivalent to most others out there? I just want to get a read from others on this forum. All comments welcome. Thank you in advance.

So here is something I was shocked by when we picked up the Velar. The owner's manual said the first oil service was at 16,000 miles? How is that possible? Also when I look at what is done in that first service, other than changing the oil, the rest are inspections. That is $1,700? $250 or $300 maybe, but $1,700? I'm not being cheap, but that seems a little ridiculous. Am I wrong? Is the oil they are using strained through a espresso machine for the King of England?

If I get the oil changed my my preferred shop, does that void the warrantee?

Got it. And considering everything shows up on Carfax.... Do people generally get their RR serviced at the dealerships? I'm all for spending a lot for an awesome car, but not to over pay for the same service performed else where that is more than 5x less for the same high quality work. I've taken all of my cars for 20 years to the same people and I trust their work. They work on very high end cars for other customers too. A little premium is one thing, but 5x does not make sense to me.

I prefer having my LR dealership perform all the service work. Yes, it will cost more, but they are best equipped to maintain and service these cars especially when there are so many software updates, technical service bulletins that customers are rarely informed about. Oil changes can be done by independent shops, and that is all you are going to get, just an oil change. Dealership operations are expensive, and dealers are required to send their techs to the OEM schools on a regular basis to get training and yearly updates on maintaining LR products. Dealers also have to invest on a regular basis on computers, proprietary OEM software, diagnostic tools and equipment to keep up with the latest vehicles. A lot of tools are forced shipped to dealers whenever a new tool is required to perform a certain task. As an example, a new tool to pull brake calipers might be needed on a particular vehicle; your independent shop will not have access to any special tools sold by the OEM nor any OEM diagnostic software. I like to support my local dealer whenever I service my vehicle. They provide me with a loaner car, wash my car, and simply deliver great service. And as said above, compared to Porsche service, LR service is very reasonable. It was $4k to perform a 20k mile service on my 911.

Dealers or the mechanics that work on your car at the dealers are required to upsell that is part of their job evaluations is how many ups they can give to customers and that’s a fact coming from two separate dealerships that I’ve gone to knowing those people these people that worked on the cars they have left and started their own service Companies

We also had our P550e for first 1 year service at the dealer recently (cost appr. $1000). From the receipt I can see that they've changed oil and updated software, but I'm not sure if they replaced air/cabin filters, wipers etc? Do anyone know if air filter change is part of the yearly service or not?
