Hello all.
An update….. please help any more info….

I posted earlier about fitting a new amplifier.

My old amp was a HK HIGH 12. It stopped working so I replaced it , thinking about going for an upgrade to a HK PREM 16. All connections the same. I know the PREM 16 is more speakers , which I may fit later , I believe certain sounds may only be heard through MID speakers. But ….

I have done a software update on the car and also updated the CCF.

Still I have no sound.

All the systems ( radio , cd , iPod , sat nav , phone , reverse camera ) all work.. but no sound…. Any thoughts?
Thank you.

I know you have done this a hundred times but sometimes we over look things...check fuses, wiring looms for cracked casing, earths? or any other connectors you have done from your install.
I didn't see your other thread...so i will ask you is it a new amp or new to you?

Hello Googs, thank you for the reply.
The old amp , sound crackled for a few seconds then I had an electric burning smell from amp which after was very evident with amp, could smell it. The 40amp fuse in engine bay blew , which I replaced. The new amp is an upgrade High 12 to Prem16. Which I purchased from a scrap dealer. It is quaranteed for a year with them. The new amp is about 6 years I think.
Yes I checked fuses and wire looms etc. All looks perfectly normal. The old amp electric connectors and fibre optic all look OK and connected fine , same sockets on amp.
The CCF has been told of new amp and software updated.
Even if it is that I'm missing speakers , surely some sound should come out of the existing ones.
Could though their wiring be different on new amp......

It's all pointing to the second hand Amp you purchased or the wiring that the blown Amp come from.

Did you plug a scanner in ? did you bring up a code for the connection or Amp?
