So a friend of mine bought some mirrors for his RR but he's not sure if they were the right ones or if they will fit on his car or not, would anyone be able to help us out a little? He has managed to buy a pair that come with a camera and flood light led under neath them? would they fit his 2006 Range rover Sport? i have uploaded a few pics to give a better idea

The cameras definitely won't work as this option was not available pre MY2010. The mount for the mirror might be the same but I'm not sure on the electronics (puddle light, heated function ...etc).

Ahh bugger! would it be alot of work in getting the lights to work? or is it just not worth it?when buying them was told that we'd be able to have them modified to have them working, but as your saying the option wasnt available then i guess they'r no good, also what model are they for then ? I appreciate the help and response very much,Thanks

For the camera you have no system in your 2006. With no system there is nothing to modify the mirrors to mate up with. As far as the lights, heating etc it is a matter of matching up wiring. However it would most likely be far more beneficial to just purchase the correct mirrors.

Ideally you'd want to purchase those specific for your model year and trim. On MY2006-2009 I recall there several different types of mirrors: With and without memory, with and without powerfold motor (although I don't think any MY06 came with powered folding motors, at least here in North America), with and without approach / puddle lamps. My best suggestion would be to contact a dealer, based on your VIN they would be able to pull up the correct part # for you, so you don't end up spending money for features your car doesn't support. The ones you have appear to be for a MY2010+ (with Vision Assist, as not all of them came with a camera), I would be surprised if they could be adapted to work on a 2006, even without camera connected.
