You can try and use RR app instead. But this app is also faulty. The only way you can use timed charging is always having the same time for on and off, set up directly from the car, not from the app. Then in 99% of cases it will start at desired time and in 30% of cases it will stop at the desired time. In 70% cases it will still charge till full.

I had an idea of taking advantage off-peak rates, but after some months I gave it up as I could not stand hating this car more and more each time app failed (and it failed almost each time), so I switched to day/night tariff. Car starts charging at 22:00 and theoretically stops at 7:00. I need approx. 10 hrs with my charger to get from 0 to 100%, but when I start from 0 charging only stops at 7:00 in 30% of cases. In most cases it just goes on. But I do not care anymore. Thanks God it can at least start at the right time. But sometimes it doesn't.

I said it many times here, I really regret I bought this car in PHEV version. It's rubbish. V8 is also rubbish. P400 seems to be the only good version, maybe diesels too.

 

The rate difference between peak and non peak times is really minimal in the US. I would advise you to just charge it manually and plug it it at night time and let it charge overnight.

 

Just to add some additional comments, I have a 2024 Range Rover 550e PHEV. My home charger is the Enel X Juicebox 40 Amps, now rebranded as VoltiE. I have been charging my PHEV almost daily for about a year and a half, with zero issues. I am not using any kind of timed charging, just normal charging when I need it. I am in NC, and there is one rate, about 0.11/kWh, and a full charge is the equivalent of about $4.50...so it's very cheap. But, it works flawlessly.

Don't give up on the PHEV, it's a great hybrid and I get about 60 miles on electric. No other PHEV that I can think of gives so much range in a hybrid.

 

Wow.. 0.11/kWh is amazing. On O'ahu Hawaii our cost per kWh over the last year ranged from 0.39/kWh to 0.46/kWh. Over a year ago it was near 0.49/kWh. Thankfully we have 35 solar panels helping to offset most of our energy costs. Nonetheless, wish we had 0.11/kWh.

 

I’ve been using a ChargePoint charger since the beginning of this year for our Range Rover Sport PHEV. We charge almost daily and using the ChargePoint app I have charging to start at 8 PM so that we take advantage of the best electrical rates and it gets a full charge overnight. I’m in Washington state and a full charge Generally cost us about $3.80... I love this hybrid.

 

I use an Enphase charger (220V, 32A). Works flawlessly on our Cayenne. On the RR, there has been 3 instances in the last 7 months where charging did not start. First time this happened, I discovered it the next day. Since then, I wait for a few seconds to make sure the car starts charging before I exit the garage. I have no experience with time of day charging because our electricity rate is not based on time of day.
