Has anyone else had an issue with the Key Fob not working?

Parked my car, then went back to start it and it said "key fob deactivated, refer to owners manual".

It would not let me start it with the main key, had to find the spare, even if I put the current key by the steering column.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. 2023 P530 here. I parked the car and locked it. Came back to the car and the hand touch would not work so I used the FOB to unlock the door which worked. Started the car and it said Key deactivated. I was able to get out of the car, lock the doors with the fob and remote start using the app however when I unlocked the car to get in when I moved the shift to Drive the car shut down. I had to uber home to get a second key which worked fine. Putting the FOB under the steering wheel did not work for me.

It happened to my Range Rover 2023 It is embarrassing to stay away from home and your key does not work Unless you get the spare key

This has happened to me and my wife twice now in less than a year of owning a 2023 defender v8. First time it was under ground parking with no cell reception so i had to go bring the spare to her while she just finished buying groceries and was with my daughter super annoying. The second time just happened now. Was out all day with the family. Stopped at subway to pick up a sub and left the key inside the car with car turned off and family inside. I come back and the doors were somehow locked and the wife unlocked the doors from inside. Then i get the key deactivated message. Luckily i was able to use the app and lock, then unlock and that allowed me to start the vehicle. Im returning this vehicle and will never buy Land Rover products again. Should have stuck with my cadillac eacalade.

There is a SOLUTION! We had the same thing happen yesterday. This car is a 2024 LR Defender V8. [We also own a 2015 RR Sport which is the love of my life.] We were 6 hours from home and 122 miles from the nearest LR dealership, and over 230 from our chosen dealership. I was waiting for my husband who went into a shop to get us coffee. I started playing with the app. Somehow I locked the car, wasn't paying attention to how. I opened the door, which set off the alarm. Further messing about and the message on the dash said my key was deactivated. We called roadside assistance who said the only thing to do was to tow it, but the distance from the dealerships was outside the range for towing so it would be transport and could take 24 hours. We called our favorite LR dealership and were able to speak to someone in service who agreed that was the only option, since I didn't have both keys, was to tow it. My husband is using my phone the entire time to call roadside assistance, the dealer, our house sitter. It was a disaster.
BUT!!! I was reading this forum and a person way down the page said he was able to get in via his LR app. I had tried that, of course, but it didn't work for me. When I finally got my phone back from my husband I thought how sometimes solutions come in 3's. So I got out of the car, locked and unlocked the car via the remote in the LR app three times, got back into the car and it started. We put it into a better position to tow in case it was something we couldn't start it again. But it was fine after that.
I'm posting this because without the other person's post we would still not be home over 24 hours later. Best of luck.
