In our 70s, we enjoy the deployable side steps in conjunction with keeping height normal and not lowering to access. If steps are not deployed, we like the access drop, and also use the access drop for some rear cargo.

 

I suggest to get the deployable side steps.

Auto access height is incredibly slow and it will stop lowering if you open the door.

 

Mine lowers in about 4 seconds. Always lower to park.

 

I'm 6'2" and 28. I constantly keep the vehicle in Off-Road II mode with the air suspension and enjoy "hopping in". If for whatever reason I use access mode, it's extremely easy to slide in and out of into my seat, no problem. No steps needed or wanted. Yes the air suspension is slow, but I have a habit of using it constantly to be raised.

 

does off-road II go back to regular height after a certain speed is reached?

 

There is a setting where you can set the vehicle to auto access height. It will lower vehicle when stopped and seatbelt unbuckled. You can also manually switch to Access Mode by pressing the relevant button on the driver’s door or via the infotainment system's settings.

 

No need for steps. Just use access mode.

 

Wouldnt that destroy the suspension over time?

 

Not at all. The air is meant to deflate from the bags.

 

Im 6’1 and my wife is 5’2”. I test drove around 20 “cars” from Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche. A month prior, I had just bought my wife a Defender and I love the access ease of her SUV. I was having trouble getting out of the cars being they were just too low. (Go figure, I am 50 years old, finally can afford my dream car, but now my body is telling me I am too old to get in and out of it lol). My wife suggested to look into another Land Rover. I was dead set on Mercedes 4 door AMG GT63 (Had one on Hold ready to be shipped to me) until I got into the Range Rover. I pulled the trigger that night and brought it home 3 days ago. Best decision I have made.

 

I find it criminal that RR charges $7k to install 'foot steps' on their vehicles. Just one more reason why I stopped using their Service Depts and went to a trusted, honest and qualified private garage for ALL my servicing needs on my RR Sport. Best decision I ever made!

 

The step was just annoying to me ( big feet).
I always drop the suspension when parking and it's fine, it also adjust the seat and lifts the steering wheel which further helps entry and exit.

 

Use that and the memory buttons on the doors use the seat adjustment by hand so seat right down and back. Press m3 says saved put the seat in your driving position press 1 it’s saved, do the same on your wife’s side or use position 2 for her driving get out just press access and 3
Get in press 1 and normal height.

 

We love the deployable side steps. Worth every penny - have had them on all three of our Rovers.

 

We are in our 70’s, we have a 2024 Range Rover ATB & Range Rover Sport Edition 1 both with deployable sidesteps
My wife insisted on Side steps for both as she found getting into our Range Rover Sport SVR difficult especially with a sore hip
The ATB came with side steps & we had the dealer fit the side steps on the Edition 1

 

We are baby boomers and our heights are 6-2 and 5-0. We set our 2025 RRS in automatic access mode and it works perfect for us. Save the 7K for something else.

Auto access height and deployable or regular steps will allow you to get in and off the car very easy.
Deployable steps option is kind of pricey, regular steps used to cost about $1200 fro mthe factory (not sure if it's currently available), but you can easily get them from Ebay and install at any indy shop. Total cost will be about $500-$700.

 

We have the L405 & deployable steps but i still lower the car for older people.
But took awhile to figure out that doors need to be closed lol. But you can get the fixed side steps fitted, cheaper & less maintenance.

I use it all the time. Theres a dedicated button to lower it on the door next to window buttons and I believe you can program it to automatically drop. You can also add it to your shortcuts on the screen.

 

How old is your car,mine is 2017 button on the centre console in front of the fridge raises the suspension from access to std to off road

 

Random question...this is the L460 forum so wouldn't the 2017 placement be irrelevant? honest question - serious!
