Gap IID tool question

So, now that I’m on my 4th Rover in the stable, I thought it was time to buy this tool everyone raves about like they own stock in the company. lol.

As such, I have two questions for those with some advanced skills in the EXTRA features of this tool BEYOND the code reading and resetting.

1.) which keys can I program (currently or future plans for), with this tool?

L319?
L320?
L322?
L405? This one is start/stop (no actual key)

*i spoke with a locksmith who seems somewhat knowledgeable in the start/stop key programming process and he said that was pretty simple to do using only the ODB port, and not ripping my console apart and taking 4 - 6 hours like on my old 2006 L320 BMW engined vehicle. Is this true?

If so, shouldn’t that one be able to be programmed with the Gap IID just as simply? (Now or in their future plans)

Has anyone had any key programming success with the above vehicles?

2.) Are there any “add on” components for this tool available and/or recommended by this body of owners and enthusiasts (may not be mutually inclusive), to get the absolute “full monty” benefits? - Wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more, say no more-

Cheers mates

Thanks so much, Chris F. I appreciate it. I’ll reach out to them once I have officially received this tool as a “surprise” For Christmas. Glad to know it worked. I have a 2015 supercharged so I will ask. I guess Patrick is the lead engineer over there. People are raving about so I’ll reach out to him. Thanks again. Cheers.

Oh, and before I forget, there’s a third and follow on question to those people who have multiple LR’s and a gap IID tool. I’m assuming I don’t have to tie this to a single Vin and that I either can download or purchase or…. To be able to use this on multiple vin’s. Before somebody asks me to call or look up the information since I have the tool, it’s a Christmas present from my wife so technically I don’t have the tool. I’m not actually supposed to know that I have the tool but these days people are sending **** in open boxes and not putting them in brown boxes to prevent people who are getting gifts from seeing these things so it arrive while my wife was out and I know I’m getting it. I just no longer know where it is and thought I would ask the community who probably understands about these types of Christmas surprises thank you again cheers

We have 2 LR vehicles,18 Discovery and 18 Range Rover L405, and one tool. To use full functions of the tool on both vehicles, you need buy an additional license/code for extra vehicle.

I have a question about using GAP tool.
My 2011 SC RRS came with a rear locker. Now, it doesn't show the lock activating on the dash screen and I can' t get it to lock in any off road situation.
I then went into my vehicle info and noticed the rear locker is "not fitted". Can the GAP tool change that piece of info to "fitted"?

This is the L405 forum, so you’re likely better off asking this in the L320 forum where more people might have encountered this.
Short answer is yes, it can. You can use the Gap IID to edit the vehicle CCF.

I’m curious how it got turned off in the first place… did this coincide with a service visit?
