I bought the 'LR branded' extended warranty. While branded LR, this is serviced by a company called SafeGuard products LLC. Various duration/mileage/deduction options are available, I chose 7 yr 75000 miles, $500 deductible for $4334. A $1000 deductible drops the price to $3600. I chose to buy this simply because of the ease of future repairs at the dealership should this arise.

JLR offers two levels of service plans through participating dealers - the key word here is participating. My dealer does not participate and offers their own plan, I declined. I may be able to buy the plan from our other LR dealer in town. I do not have a price on this one - but you should be able to call a few dealers and see if they are all offering the same price or not. Given the long service interval of the car, I am now leaning towards just paying for the service out of pocket.

I paid $2200 for the tire and wheel from safeguard. Have 700 miles and already getting a replacement tire for picking up a nail in the side wall so looks like it will pay for itself easily

 

How many years on the wheel and tire?


I need to get an extended warranty too, would prefer a LR one just to keep it easy...7/75K doesn't sound bad

 

You can get the tires covered by Discount Tire. This is the same policy they offer when you buy tires there, but they also offer it standalone on new cars with OEM tires. The policy works as long as the tires have usable tread.
