That is one of my favorite interior features of the Rover... I don't really care for the steering wheel either.

Same here! I am praying to God that He Blesses our 14' Range Rover Sport 5.0L Supercharged for another 20 years. I could own this vehicle for the rest of my life proudly and happily as long as she runs well! Range Rover's are instant classics because they are so good looking and they don't change body styles for 10+ years unlike lesser manufacturers such as Ford or Chevy. The latter two seem to drastically change styles every 3 years which is stupid and really hurts the resale value before the owner is halfway to paying them off.

Ahh, the late John Clarke (Kiwi adopted by Australia) and Bryan Dawe (Australian) doing one of their mock interviews of Australian government ministers. :D

The ship they are referring to is the MV Kirki which had the bow separate off Western Australia 30 years ago. Disregard the reference to the AIr Force helicopters. The Royal Australian Air Force doesn't have choppers - they were transferred to Army decades ago. Besides, that chopper is WestPac (bank) sponsored rescue chopper. (Note the stylised "W" on the side of the chopper.)

Interior design seems a bit backwards to me... single screen is wonky given I use CarPlay 100% of the time. Going in and out of that for other controls is garbage.

The 2018+ L405 feels clean and modern and the dual screens, which I love, you can have different things running, e.g. CarPlay on one, etc.
Even though I like buttons like the L322, the 2018+ refresh was close to perfection (if they just did a bit more optimization to their code/performance/bugs fixes).
I also like the drive controls aligned with the driver.

The L405 was a nice progression from the L322.
The L460 (new Jaguar interior) doesn't feel upmarket enough...

Makes me wonder if they did any user centered design/studies on this...

Great post Mavro! I'm going to jump on and add my opinion that the 2017 Range Rover - the middle child with ICTP was the best of the L405 interiors. Real buttons/dials/switches and even a hardware Start/Stop button really made it great for me.

The 2018 refresh improved so much of the car that I wouldn't go back but if I could have had the 2017 HVAC controls in a 2018+, I don't think it I could have made it more perfect for me. I want physical buttons that can be used for muscle memory, and I think the L460 has a good compromise even if it took a Jaguar to get there.

I'm intrigued, what do you display on the lower screen that CarPlay blocks on the upper screen? Not audio, not phone, not nav... With the lower screen somewhat limited, what does it give you that saves you from having to go back and forth on the upper screen?

I keep the Vehicle screen up on my lower screen just so I can tap the Start/Stop. Other than that I rarely use any other lower screen.

That interior of the L322 is exactly what I had in my 2003. I really loved that look. I agree with the above, the L405 was a really nice progression in terms of the design. I feel that it remained true to the roots of the Range Rover and moved it forward, keeping it up to date and relevant. The interior of the L460 is really disappointing.

I’m actually quite stunned by the response I’m reading from mostly RR owners.
I like the updated rear, looks cleaner, updated & contemporary. The front and sides are nicely updated. The RR is a classic, anybody expecting a significant aesthetic departure from the RR lineage is naive.

The interior looks great. Much larger screen, dedicated hvac controls, proper transmission lever. I personally preferred our 2011 L322 to either of our L405; better more functional interior, a more solid feel yet smoother ride. The L460 is said to be very focussed on improving the ride quality as well as road noise. That alone is a huge selling point. Then the fact that I can get a PHEV-6 w/LWB AB was the decider. You could not pay me enough to accept a BMW powertrain, I owned a 2003 L322 w/it’s transmission and head gasket issues, not to mention my M5 that seized motor twice in 3500 miles🤦‍♂️.

Im visiting dealer today to order an LWB AB, just unsure if I’ll order diesel or ingenium phev

I see you are in the US, I don't see Diesel or PHEV available yet... the Diesel doesn't look like it's ever coming and the PHEV won't be delivered until end of 2023 it sounds, orders beginning in January or there about.

Do you have different info?

I'm super happy to see the PHEV switching to the I-6 as well. That's really a sweet drivetrain system with the 500HP+ output potential. I am assuming the new Sport will get that as well, so it's going to be a perfect system for the boss. She mostly goes around in-town so she can make a good use of it. I'll personally stick with the V8 as long as it's around. It's gonna be gone for good in no time.

So it looks like no Diesel and the P440e available earliest is Jun.

I'm not down with getting a 1st platform model only because of my confidence level of my local dealers is so low with a platform that has been around for 10yrs... can only imagine the training they need to get up to speed on this technology beast.

"Less is More" is only the visuals... they added a ton more stuff under the covers.

So realistically, I'm looking at 2024-2025 MY...
