I purchased and installed the aftermarket deployable sidesteps on my ‘24 LWB and posted in the above thread. Total install time was around two hours and I was not rushing, did it by myself in my driveway without jacking the car, and am VERY happy with them. Additionally, I purchased an OEM control module and ordered an IID to code the vehicle to enable this option as factory installed. From what I’ve read, the difference between the aftermarket and factory (other than price) is that the factory has the ability to NOT deploy if desired (maybe parking too close to a curb or something), and the ability to have the steps remain deployed (not retract) when the doors are closed so you can easily access the roof. The aftermarket controller simply deploys when a door is opened and hides when both doors on that side are closed. I plan to post an update after I receive the IID tool.
Again, aftermarket was less than $1,000 delivered (delivery to a California took less than 7 days), took around two hours to install by myself at home, and I’m very happy with the result.
