Battery too low when I try a “Deep Clean”

Hi all,

When I try a deep clean from the app, I get a message that says “vehicles battery is too low” , and it will not perform it. I took it into the dealer, they charged the lithium battery, and the same day I was getting the message again. The cab is showing clean or green on the cabs screen but i don’t know if this has anything to do with performing the fhnction. Am I not understanding how this works or do I have a problem with the battery?

I never used the deep clean function from the app, and frankly, I hardly ever use the app. The filtration system works fine and cleans the inside air while you are driving and the system is on. There is even a screen on the pivi pro that tells you the air quality inside the car. Do you get battery low messages while driving the car or are you only getting that on the app? If you are not getting battery low messages while driving, I believe all is good. The app software might need to be updated.

This is from chatgpt. I personally have never used the "deep clean" function.

he Deep Clean function on a 2024 Range Rover is part of the vehicle’s air‑quality / cabin purification system, and it works through the Remote (“InControl Remote” or similar) smartphone app. topix.jlrext.com+1

Here’s what Deep Clean does:

What Deep Clean Does

  1. Purifies Cabin Air Before You Drive
Deep Clean lets you activate a cycle before you start driving — you don’t need to start the engine. This helps ensure the air inside the vehicle is fresher and cleaner from the moment you get in. topix.jlrext.com+1
  2. Cabin Air Purging / Filtration
The cycle begins with a “purge” of cabin air, which helps flush out stale air. Then it filters the air to remove fine particulates (PM2.5 and smaller) down to 2.5 micrometers or below. topix.jlrext.com+1
  3. Odor Removal, Allergen & Pathogen Reduction
The system also helps remove unpleasant odors, and deactivates or reduces allergens, and pathogens in the cabin air. Land Rover Media Centre+1
  4. Air Quality Monitoring
While Deep Clean is running, the app displays progress and shows air‑quality data. That includes internal vs external PM2.5 levels and Air Quality Index (AQI). topix.jlrext.com+1

Things to Know / Requirements

  • It’s tied to having the appropriate clean‑air / purification hardware in the vehicle (e.g. Cabin Air Purification systems, filters, sensors) as part of its equipment. Land Rover Media Centre+1
  • There are limits on how often you can run Deep Clean between journeys, particularly in Plug‑in Hybrid (PHEV) versions. Non‑PHEV vehicles also have limits. topix.jlrext.com
  • The 12‑volt battery charge level can affect whether Deep Clean is available, since the system needs power for the engine‑off cycle. topix.jlrext.com

It's marketing speak. There's a package you can get on the RR that gets you an "ionizer" (negative ions). It's been around forever. back in the 90s it was a thing you could plug into a cigarette lighter for $20...

Yeah it's now a thing on high end cars (S class, A8s, etc etc). It's a gimmick

Mine says that after I try to perform the Deep Clean App Feature after the Car has been sitting awhile. It's very normal and nothing is wrong with the battery. It works after I drive it and get home, and then activate the function. The system needs the battery to work, and the battery needs sufficiently charged (aka drive to charge).

Let it sit for a little and then take it for a drive around. Then when you get to home or work or whatever, try activating the function again. Should work.
