We’ve been waiting on allocation for a V8 LWB since December. Reached o it to dealer and didn’t hear back. Went ahead and bought a ‘21 GLE63 as we needed a new daily and Land Rover dealer hasn’t been communicating well.
Now they’re saying our deposit is non refundable. That’s different than what we were told 8 months ago. Ughh this whole process is starting to stink.

I encountered the same. Called Sales and they find excuse to let me wait another 2 weeks to provide updates. But no news yet since I contact couple times already.

Now they walked it back. They said they’ll refund the deposit if we want to. They’re trying to talk us into keeping it. They don’t know exactly when our allocation will come or whether we can order a V8. Wtf???

oh *. This is too bad. I am still trying to get an answer from my dealer. If I can't get the car this year, I will turn to the new X7 since they have the same powertrain. The X7 can be delivered in Oct. for sure.

I went to order the 130 the other day - they said I could get it this year, but when the "orders open" then they will put it in first and I won't have pay over MSRP. Probably they know how much I spend in the service department they know better then to ask me for more.

Nonetheless, I had similar issues at Lexus the GX460 I think will be changed soon I don't think Toyota / Lexus wants to build any more V8 switching everything to V6 Turbo, etc.

The L322s are driving again for the moment - so I'm just going to wait and see who moves first then decide.

JJ I will go try a X7 again - this weekend. Good luck to everyone - with the current supply shortage, etc. this is not the best time to need to buy a new vehicle.

I'm telling you - they don't know what the hell they're doing - the factory / manufacturer / company - should never have released the car when they did. They knew then they would never be able to deliver the cars.

Alternatively - they should have (maybe they did?) ask their marketing team to put out a CLEAR statement explaining that while the car is officially released, deliveries will commence in 2023.

The downside to that is many buyers would then turn to competitors (like the X7).

There was no winning on this one. Hard to put the blame on any one target but as the presidential saying goes - the buck's gotta stop with the boss - and that's Range Rover.

I saw they built dozens for press interviews and videos. Maybe they should have considered actual revenue / income / sales to take priority over what a car magazine would say.

Honestly - none of the buyers give a hoot what road and track says about the car anyway.

Just to put my experience in, I had my name (and deposit) on a SWB SV model. I’ve been bugging my dealer since March about getting the order placed. When pestered, they kept giving me no new information on allocation availability or when they’d place the order. Finally they said V8 orders are suspended and they’re not sure when they’d be back. I told them I wanted my deposit refunded and would look elsewhere. They had no problem with it, just waiting for my deposit to be refunded to my CC.

Meanwhile, I’m probably going to jump ship and get a ‘23 Alpina XB7 or GLS63… leaning more towards the Alpina though. It’s a shame Land Rover couldn’t get their act together and leaving all these dealerships in the dark.

I may be one of a million, but I have NEVER wanted any car as badly as those of you who will wait months/years to get it! With the history of problems from Range Rover (as documented here in the forum), this oddity is magnified! My Rolls Royce tech mentioned last week the companies today care less about reliability because most luxury vehicles are leased;therefore, the owner turns them in a few years before problems show up! I think he is right!

He is right and then after the lease the warranty is almost done and it is no longer their problem. The total life of their vehicles is 10 years max. The dealership network across the country doesn't even want to work on them 2010 and older and some say 2012 and older - so they want to dump all the L322 all together. Its crazy. Bad business no respect for their own products.
