It doesn't appear that you can spec a Velar with air suspension in any trim other then a First Edition. In America, a First Edition is $90k+. That is much more expensive then a very nicely equipped RRS.

Sorry Velar, you almost had me.

Actually, I think you can.

At least according to my dealer and the official Velar USA brochure that you can download online, the air suspension comes standard with any Velar with the P380 V6 engine. So that puts you at $65k as the entry admission for air suspension for a Velar S P380, which is a lot less than the $90k for a First Edition. Still a pretty good deal if you ask me.

Further to this - from the Land Rover USA official Velar announcement:

"Available air suspension is standard on six-cylinder models improving on- and off-road refinement and capability, while Adaptive Dynamics damping technology further enhances comfort and control"

You make a good point. I have a one month old RRS and a one week old F-pace S. The S is super nice. Leather is not as good as my RRS. Interior lighting is way better on the F-pace S (if you are into that)- it also comes heavily equipped. But the true difference between the F-pace S and the Velar is going to be how they drive. The F-pace S is a sports car disguised as a crossover. Snappy to say the least. The velar will stay true to it's LR roots.

The Velar is a sexier machine IMO. It comes at a cost however. We ticked every option on the F-pace S and after taxes it was in the mid 70's which includes a 5 year warranty and free service for that time period. Dollar per dollar, the F-pace S is a better value.

As for looks... like I said. The Velar is a beuriful piece of machine.

The Velar's interior controls and the shaved door handles are things that IMHO should have been included on the F-Pace. These are the reason I am on this site. I paid additional for the higher end audio in my current ride and would be willing to do so here as well but the truth is that the 825w sound system in the F-Pace is plenty so would not brun cash on the higher-end system. I do also like the ride height capabilities of the Velar that the F-Pace lacks but that is exclusively related to snow skiing adventures almost each weekend in the winter time so also some value there but then you run into the real realazation that a velar could cost as much as the Levante and then the comparisons start all over again. Maybe I should jsut wait for the Urus to be released LOL
