Most of the places I just checked either say out of stock, or say nothing at all. You can do the search while the mechanic is going about other business. Plan to make a few phone calls.

Please continue updating the community. Parts delays THAT long are a general concern.

To the good, one of the reasons a(ny) given part is in starved stock is that they don't fail often enough to justify carrying them.

If so, salvage yard might be the fastest way to get you back on the road long enough to await NEW parts. Recycler wouln't ordinarily pre-pull them if low demand, either, so expect a DIY pull.

 

2013 L320 S/C V8 with same problem off the road waiting on LR014592 since mid January - until yesterday!

To be fair, more than a few of us can fab a patch - or even an entire "workalike" - from scratch and stock fittings, as can any of many seriously competent hydraulic shops as keep any industrialized nation's bulldozers, backhoes, cranes, and forklifts running-not-idle.

"OTOH" not keen on supporting the costs of folk used to serving a market where downtime costs + penalties can be hundreds of thousands of dollars and a $2,000 plus-plus repair fee is seen as a welcome alternative!

Lesson here might be to inspect for corrosion, buy a replacement in advance if it looks to be doing the dirty?

 

Yes indeed, I really wished I had been advised by the shop that did my service work that there was corrosion starting and I would have taken action. While I look after a few classic vehicles myself I entrusted this one to others. I guess there is a moral in this story somewhere. Not being able to secure parts for one’s daily drive that’s just turned 10 was quite a shock though - as was having to drive a sports car that’s over half a century old through the middle of winter as a result! At least I can get parts for the latter ….

 

To be fair.. there are so many trays, covers, liners, and heat-shields under a Rover that significant work is required - especially if one has no lift - to simply get eyeshot on those goods and their grotty cousins.

"workin' on it.." between religious ablutions and burnt-offerings of cash to the fussy AJ133 V-Ate (for sometimes LESS than "eight" ) ...at the center of far greater travail.

With two JLR motorcars, my walking stick has been getting a workout, so I've started looking for a MOPAR or GMC ''beater" to go for groceries, take out the trash, and go after parts. Antifreeze I should just apply for a pipeline permit..

 

So I have gone ahead and ordered Part LR019908 (which is the same as RQA500018). It will take 2 days to be delivered. I will keep everyone updated once my mechanic has finished. He says it will work and I should have my vehicle back by Monday. Fingers crossed.

 

Sumbich ' must be hatched from Faberge's Dinosaurian eggs by doting parents working in shifts, they love it so much to command the prices a search just showed.

 

Good luck, I hope all goes well for you! For the guy who fitted mine I had to make a piece to clamp the end of one pipe down as the RQA500018 lug was on the opposite side to LR014592. A simple tube and arm welded to the pipe end did the trick. All good so far 🤞
Other people retrofit their old LR014592 ends to the new pipes with new compression fit flexible pies. I held on to my old ends just in case.

This was the path I intended to go down. However, when it came to doing the job the RR specialist I went to said it would be quicker/easier to reshape the bends a bit and get a lug fitting on the other side. He went to test the theory and the next thing I knew the job was done. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos, but can ask questions if it will help.

 

Sounds as if he took ten minutes to cogitate over it, and another ten to do it, billed an hour or so, all up?

Looks to need doing perhaps once in the life of the motorcar, if even once, so not that long a show-stopper after all.

Might want to eyeball that "lug". If he used a stock wrap-around, - elastomer lined especially, MOPAR vans do that on a PS line and are notorious for trapping filth and salt, corroding through the line, out-of-sight inside the wrap of the clamp.

Similar effect, some Rover brake lines recently covered on forum.

About 4 1/2 hours. The body needed to be lifted from the chassis where the pipes run.

Hello everyone. The good news is that the secondary part (Part LR019908) worked (finally have my RRSS back). Cost was off the charts but I believe worth it. Turns out the water pump was also leaking so that had to be repaired as well. Next step is rustproofing tomorrow. I feel like I have a brand new vehicle. Thank you all so much for your input and recommendations. So very appreciated.

@rb189874 - No, I was unable to get that part. I ended up ordering Part LR019908 directly from Land Rover and my mechanic was able to use it to fix the issue.

Hello all, I am back again. After successfully replacing the Part LR019908 last year, there is now a leak to the block that it is attached to going towards the rear of the vehicle. Does anyone know what that part is? It looks like a block of some sort. Please help.
