I took an extended test drive in the same config (SE P400). I thought it drove very well, exceptionally comfortable and materials have gone up a notch for sure. Tech was crisp and generally logical. I felt the power was good and well matched to the SWB, although it seemed lacking in higher speed acceleration. I also really like the design and it works as well on the SWB size as well as the LWB versions that did the rounds in the US. The handling is also exceptional, great roll control without being harsh/stiff and the turning radius with rear steer in amazing.

Some downsides: auto start/stop is a PITA and fairly lazy. It also will decouple the ac compressor longer than it used to (ie gets to blowing pretty warm air before the engine starts.) This cannot be permanently disabled and requires going into the Pivi screen through a couple of pages to turn off. Wish it was a button. Lots of bright trim creates glare inside, need to look at my build to see what can be done (some down to exposed aluminum that won’t change but also the black veneer trim around the shifter.) The little triangle windows up front are gimmicky and seem out of place (yes I get it, throwback to the original.)

Finally my big beef with aluminum chassis cars evident here - they really transmit much more high frequency vibrations that you get over chip seal roads which we have a lot of. Led to relatively higher interior noise although some may be down to the 23s this car had. No different than the 405 but stuck out to me more given how serene the rest of the package is.

Overall very impressed and looking forward to ours.

Instead of buying outgoing year FS RR, we ordered a high spec velar in June as a bridge...we have a LWB on order.

A few things I noticed out of shoot:

-plastic on lower door pillars and carpeting are budget rental car level, upper panel leather and materials are great (sounds like the get all of it righy in the higher end cars)

-P400 is very fast and powerful for this car, wonder how it will do in LWB?....but it's noisy at startup. Revs high for a few seconds then settles in.

-Pivi 2 is awesome, quick changes, very little contact needed and it's intuitive. Huge improvement over Gen 1. (as opposed to above comment, start/stop disable button is right on homescreen..I thought it would be same on FS, no?)

Interested to hear review of transmission and shifter?

-The shifter in new FS RR looks like the newly redesigned Velar shifter.....and it's is a PoS. Worst ever. Does not engage easily. You have to very deliberately depress underside button and pull back slowly and maybe it decides to engage D and hunting for N is a crapshoot. It either finds R or back to D. You hit N if your lucky.

So I'm wondering about your impression of shifter/tranny

We ordered the eucalyptus based material interior and we love it. Huge compliments. US config only offers the non leather option in black and noton LWB...would like to know rational behind that? Maybe just and oversight.

Just spent roughly 3hrs behind the wheel and felt compelled to comment on the seat comfort... this is something that will probably be overlooked until fully experienced. The seats feel like a complete redesign. Not sure the science behind it but it is very rare for me to not have mild low back pain after a 2+hr drive. The overall size, plushness and adjustability is S-Class level accept in a more upright seating position which I have always preferred (legs down at 80-90 degrees in front of you instead of out in front of you at 15-20 degree). Looking forward to hearing everyone else's opinions on this!
Seat comfort is a big thing for me. I am happy to hear this feedback.

Congratulations, the RR looks great! Personally, I prefer silver wheels. I think yours look perfect. Seat comfort for Nevis very important as I have a bad back. Many cars that we order without driving first end up going to my wife if the seat it uncomfortable for me. My current Range Rover L Autobiography has a great seat for my needs, so I’m happy to hear the new model is even better.

Beautiful!

Btw, the Cullinan has to be the ugliest SUV on the market right now. Might just be me but I'm not a fan of anything Rolls Royce design-wise outside the Wraith

Used to be a big fan of the Cullinan, not gonna lie. But honestly after my eye has been trained on the L460, the rolls looks like a Picasso 🥴
And for confirmation sake, did they remove the polarized windows in the rear on the L460 lol?

If what you mean is privacy glass, then no, they didn't remove it, and even if you got one without it, you can do basically the same thing with window tinting
This right here:

This is the most important for me. Thank you for sharing this. The ride comfort and isolation is a priority for me.

Hey all,

First post here... Just wanted to drop a line with a pic or two and my first impressions after owning since last Thursday. I was one of the lucky ones who was allocated a dealer pre-spec. The build was super close to what I would've ordered anyway so it was a win/win. Let's be honest though, I probably would've taken anything they offered- lol. Coming from a 2016 HSE that had and is still being very good to me well over 120k miles, I can only really make one comparison... [It is like going from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 13 Pro]. Everything about the car is superb. Ride quality is beyond a noticeable difference and the technology is borderline spaceship-status (I also own a Tesla so I feel qualified to comment on the tech). The reviews that are out there make sense in that this truly feels on the level of Bentayga and Cullinan without the "look at me" connotation of Bentley/Rolls ownership (I'm not a hater though!)

My build is P400 in Batumi Gold over Perlino interior w/ 22" (forget the model #) wheels and a bunch of extra bells and whistles

Anyway, excited to make some memories with this one. Only changes I plan to make are to powdercoat the wheels high gloss black and tint the front driver and passenger windows to match the rear windows. A couple pics!

What part of the country are you in? I live in the Tampa Bay area and they have yet to get here. I was told they’ll starting arriving around June?

Nevermind 🥶
Yep, Pennsylvania... not sure how that all worked out with delivery geographies. Though I will say I was supposed to receive it even earlier than I did which seems even crazier. It was a pre-spec, if you didn't catch that initially, not a custom order. So inevitably I missed out on some features I likely would've included but you can't put a price on having it first; especially in the stuck up town I'm in, lol.

Interesting. I was just in Florida and rented a 2020 Range Rover Sport from Sixt. The shifter did exactly what you describe. I backed out of my parking spot and when I went to select drive - it was hit or miss. I kept falling into Neutral. It happened like that 90% of the time.

You're so right. The Cullinan SO Ugly. I like the new and previous generation Phantom. I like the old ghost - not so much the new ghost. I like the Wraith and Dawn (which have been canceled)

I had a joke with a friend that I saw a picture on Instagram that actually looked semi good but it was in a sand dune and sent it to him for his opinion.
