I assume it will be a 2025 model year and announced in 2024. This follows the previous SVR rollout. Let’s hope they have imagined a completely different front and rear bumper guise for the upcoming SVR seeing as the new RRS is so ugly.

 

1st on the list at my dealer, have been told there should be more details first half of 23 with models being likely delivered second half. Not an engine issues as it uses the S63 from BMW, just normal development time.

 

Talked to my dealer again, no hints when this vehicle will be announced, let alone available for delivery.

 

Land Rover has a record backlog of 205,000 vehicles. SVR model introduction and deliveries will be a long time way at this rate.

Recent Motor Authority article states ”The redesigned Range Rover Sport has arrived as a 2023 model. The SVR version should arrive early next year as a 2024 model.” I hope they know what they are talking about.

Maybe the issue is with availability of the BMW engine. I know it will be a slightly different engine than that in the First Edition, but they both may be in short supply.

 

Interesting maybe the new SVR and all electric model will be announced at the same time presenting a quandary as to which one to order? I bet the electric will be faster than the SVR. It may come down to relative price and which one can be delivered the earliest.

Maybe since the 2024 Velar has now been revealed, the 2024 SVR will becoming next.

It's a 20 units limited edition, not something the factory nor the engineers especially need to be focused on.

Got a call from my dealer. The new SVR is being called SV. The US gets 534, and worldwide there will be 2,500 in total production. Power exceeds 600 hp, pricing not yet know, but likely in the 200k range. These are going to be spec’d by LR, with no options to choose. It should be arriving starting around mid year next year. The regular v8 for the Sport is not likely to be available until at least late 2024. All of this is from my dealer, so don’t shoot the messenger!

 

@RRS43 is correct. Pricing will be in the $180-$200k range. Sounds like it will be more of an ultra-lux Sport rather than the growly performance oriented SVR's that we're used to. I don't understand this strategy from JLR. I was all ready to jump into an SVR but this doesn't fit the bill for me so I'm out.

 

Wow if this is correct than there will be continued strong demand for 2022 SVR and 2023 First Edition models. Unfortunately, if the new SVR is in the $200k US range that will potentially be an insane $265k CND.

Just got the same info from my dealer this week. "The new Range Rover Sport SVR will now be a Range Rover Sport SV. 650 horsepower with a MSRP of $180,000-$200,000" No chance to spec or build one. Black or Bronze was mentioned. Was due to to replace my 2019 SVR but may be holding on to it for now. No idea what the marketing plan was here. The SVR was a popular model.

 

Wow no chance to spec, two colours and costly - sure let’s pay $265 Cnd. Wonder if they are using the engine from the BMW XM (644 hp)?
