I am afraid that since it is blowing hot air, your refrigerant has leaked out. Try to see an AC specialist where you are; they might be able to fill up your refrigerant to get you home at least. Another thought: do you have anything inside the car that is covering areas where sensors might be located? If you are carrying a lot of luggage and such??

What if you try rebooting the Pivi system by holding the phone button on the steering wheel for 30 seconds?

 

My 2024 doesn’t have a phone button. The command button? I tried that a couple times, but there was no reset.

 

You can reset the PIVI by also holding the on-off- volume mute knob for 30 seconds or so, until you see the LR logo on the screen.

 

On mine that is a rotating knob, not a pushable rotating button

Successful reset but still no A/C unfortunately

 

Update: after another hour of suffering I turned A/C back on for maybe tenth time, a terrible smell came from the vents, and cold air started blowing. Happy now. Hope it lasts. 300 miles to go. Fingers crossed

Same issue with my 24 P530 - no AC. It just stopped working yesterday. It’s heading to the dealer this morning.

Update on mine…as mentioned before the A/C came on for the last few hours of my trip. I didn’t have time to go to dealer before my next little trip yesterday (3 hours). Worked fine and then last night after dinner it didn’t work. Tried repeatedly to turn on and off but no luck.

Fortunately this morning it came back on, again with the bad odor at startup.

Just need it to perform today and tomorrow on the ride home then off to the dealer.

Btw when I called the dealer service rep to ask if there was a trick their first suggestion was to talk to my salesman to learn how to operate the system. Infuriating. After 2 L460s over 2.5 years that was the reply. Somehow I kept myself from saying all the things in my head 😎

It's at the dealer now - I'll keep you guys posted. Oddly, the front passenger was blowing fairly cold, the driver side was hot, some of the rears were hot/cold, the fan speed worked but not correctly. The dealer said my spec has 2 separate units in it, it's a LWB.

 

URGHHH...I would personally report the service rep who told you to talk to your salesman about how to operate the system. That is total BS! Unbelievable...
I am thinking that something in the system has a bad sensor preventing the refrigerant from pushing thru the AC hoses all the way to the vents. Could it be an obstruction of some sort? Can the heat wave we are having has anything to do with it? Wonder also about why the bad odor...You would think that this time and age they would have the AC system 100% reliable. Sounds like it may be a diverter door malfunction for the ventilation system since certain sections are receiving cold air and others are not.

For those in very hot climates, does the AC cool down nicely?

do you have 3 or 4 zone? how hot outdoors when it is effective?

mine does well with the 4 zone after the update some time back that improved the performance.

 

I have the 4 zone AC and we have had temps in the high 90's and it is very effective; the 4 zone is part of the Comfort Pack I ordered. I also ordered the Premium Upgrade Interior Pack, which has the solar attenuating windscreen.
