Does anybody here know where I can find a better looking steering wheel than stock? I want something a little more sporty, and possibly have an insert that can be painted or woodgrained.

SPORTY!? WTF.

As per Gazellio there are wood grain with "Sports Grip" but please tell me you're not going to rip it off and put a momo on? Tons of the wooden inlaid ones on eBay. Think you can get them in heated.

Here you go AAD:

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for. Has anyone here installed the wheel with the dark wood color?

AAD here is the Dark Wood version with Black or Cream leather:

Carbon Fibre Options:

Hope this helps - Like them all and I think they work exactly as OEM.

Are you guys sure you haven't bought a Honda Civic by mistake?
What's your problem? These s/wheels are basically the same/similar to the Overfinch,Westminster etc OEM versions.

Why do you "long in the tooth" Landie guys come down so hard on the newer Range Rover owners that may just have bought their "Truck" as a Luxury Car for general road use and occasional green field work rather than a unmolested Bog Standard (and in most cases slightly ageing) Mud-Plugger.

This is a general Range Rover owners forum not a specialist Land Rover off roading forum so each to their own without caustic and frankly rude remarks please.

I don't dislike the wood leather combo, I'm not so keen on the sports grip though but I believe they come in standard design. There is no point in a sports grip on a car with a high lock to lock rate, they are designed for sports cars where a qtr turn has you doing a U turn.

The guys selling them on eBay also sell the standard wheels off of brand new RR's at £150 exchange for your old one which they then re-trim. I may take them up on that.

RE the old guys who dont like change...

I'm 25 and I bought my Range Rover because it's a Range Rover.

Dan as always you comments appreciated and by the way I am 48 and owned just about everything under 60K new, including brand new Range Rover Sports & D3's, but this is my first full size Range Rover and although not new and it has loads of faults (already I ask you) its one of the best drives I have ever had.

Lets all just enjoy what we enjoy and agree to be different in what we like about our Rangies.

If you review the OP's recent (if I may say abrasive and completely lacking in any use of Google) posting history, all he has wanted to do is nail on additions to his car that wouldn't be out of place in a Vin Diesel film. Hence I stand by my observation.

As for "long in the tooth", it turns out I'm a fair amount younger than you, although like you, I too have an extensive list of pre-owned Range Rovers and other examples of Land Rovers.

Thanks for the pictures Gazellio! I really like the carbon fiber wheel, but I don't have any other carbon on my truck. I didn't realize they make a non sport model of the wheel with wood inserts. Have you ordered anything from them in the past? Are they a reputable company?

And for you GKP.... Isn't the entire reason of coming to a forum to ask others what they like and dislike? I am asking other people on the forum opinions of the steering wheels and where to get them. What is wrong with that? I could google, which I have, but I want the response from people that have these cars on where to buy the parts and what works and doesn't.

I'm a person that doesn't drive stock looking cars. I enjoy customizing everything I buy. I also own a 1970 Cuda that is completely custom, a 1963 Nova SS, and I just sold a 04 Gallardo. Most people would leave the Gallardo and Cuda stock but both of mine were completley custom.

I think the issue that irritates the true value-added contributors to this forum is that some fellow (but fly-by-night) forum visitors only visit the forum to throw out a simple, already-asked question to have someone search for them, and then get their panties in a wad :crybaby2: when the true contributor expresses that their pantys have gotten in a bit of a wad  , even though they have more reason to be in a wad because the drive-by interlopers can't even manage to follow a link to a plethora of info to answrer their question, and need it all laid-out for them.

By the way , Dan UK 1984 has contributed goads of helpful information to many posters-in-need, and I believe has the right to get a little miffed if he wants. He's **** well earned it. He is BONIFIED!!! I for one owe him a few beers for his quick assistance. If you drive-by interlopers piss him off & chase him from this forum, don't expect any helpful replies to stupid questions from me. :naughty: And yes there ARE stupid questions! I've asked enough to know.

I'm just sayin'...

I joined this forum because I truely love my Range and I plan on buying more of them in the future. I used to be a Cadillac guy. I have owned 5 Escalades in the past decade and I contributed a lot of time in that community. After buying the Range I would only give it up for a newer one. I get mixed results on the truck daily because of its reputation but I truely love everything about it. I am a new guy here and I expect to get the old timers giving me crap, that is the nature of forums. I'm not a fly by night forum user, I don't plan on going anywhere I just bought a new truck and I want to share some ideas with others about it.

With that said, can we get back to a discussion about the topic I started?

These aftermarket replacement panels & steering wheels are sexy. I can't believe LR didn't offer the wood steering wheels as extras.
I know! That is the first thing I noticed when I was looking at the interiors of the RR. The simple steering wheel with shiny looking leather. I think I am going to go with the non sport model with the dark wood finish.
