Hi wondered if you guys could give a rough value as my car was written off and they should be calling me tommorow with the figure they will pay out.

Its a 1998 4.6 HSE 160,000 on the clock had a new engine at 140,000 if that means anything. Full Landrover main dealer service history.

I paid £11,750 back in 2004 (6-7 years back) again I dont know if that means anything.

Just want something in my head when he calls :crybaby2:

Re: Written of car value for insurance

Is that km or miles?

If it's 160,000 km, Kelley Blue Book here in the states says $10,800

If it's 160,000 miles it says $8,200

Good luck.

He is in England...
They normally go off book value though, unless you specify the new engine at premium time etc.
hopefully you dont get screwed!
Hope you were OK when it happened?

I don't think you'll be pleased....

While you can still see them advertised for up to £8k for a low mileage 2001 car, with that sort of mileage the valuation will be nearer £2k-£3k.

My 2000 Vogue has the same sort of mileage, and I'm now thinking in terms of a value of £2500 - maybe I'd get more on a good day. Track a few on e-bay and you'll see what I mean.
