Nashvegas, a few things of interest:

- Their website says it fits RRS July 2015 on to 2018 MY. They are pulling power from the cigarette lighter plug in the center console. So it sounds odd to exclude MY 2014 and first half of 2015.
- The demo video shows a RRS all the way to the moment before the device is activated. Then the video switches to what appears to be a Discovery. Why? Did the RRS install didn't work? Did the recording device fail? I'm not sure, but that gives me some concern.
- The device pictured on the website is not the same functioning device installed in the video. The one on the website and the one being installed on the RRS has the power indicator light on the front. The one they show working at the end of the video has it on the side.

The website has a contact email address. You might want to drop them a note and get some clarification.

That should be factory installed or at least the LR dealer should offer these. Just perfect as that is where I try to keep my phone anyway. I was thinking of putting my desktop wireless charger there to test out if I like it or not.

Baxterdown I noticed a few of those things too..

I did email back/forth with the vendor over the holidays, they are in APAC region and seemed responsible and intelligent. They said 2015.7 to present (and then updated the website to that information in the past few days too).

One thing - I did look up on the parts websites, and the console pieces in that area are the SAME from 2014-2017 (ie the frame, rubber mat, etc). So really there's no physical reason why it shouldn't fit. And electrically, it's powered by a little jumper off the cigarette lighter feed, which ... should be the same.

Well either way I just bought one and will ... see... what... happens and report back here. But if this works, I'm psyched !

Only problem now (if you care/use it) is that we have CarPlay support, but it's not wireless. Still stuck with a wire either way. Here's to hoping that the next refresh includes wireless charging and CarPlay support built-in.

I bought one as well. Looks like it left HKG this morning.

Have you (or anyone else) found any good instructions on the console/dash breakdown? The video on their website seems to be on a Sport 1... anything out there on a Sport 2?

I bought a print for 7$ and built it in under the rubber pad in the middle console's arm rest. I tapped the power from the back of the usb chargers. Works like a charm! 20190119_175255.jpg 20190120_100923.jpg

All functionalities of the console are maintained as you can see on the pictures.

The charging cable is only slightly visible in a few spots. The only problem I'm currently having it that the chip is capable of high speed charging but the power delivered towards the USB charging ports is too low to get the high speed charging to work. Therefore I should tap the power probably from another location but I didn't know where to look.
The USB ports are easily accessible by removing the back of the middle console with 2 screws. The connectors to the USB charging ports are directly accessible behind the cover.

All USB ports on my car deliver deliver max 2.000 mA - the wireless charging therefore can only deliver 900 mA max. Which is slow charging if you compare it to the 2.200 mA it can deliver through high speed wireless charging. But as mentioned before, I should then tap the power from somewhere else. Any idea's where on a 2019 model?

The chip fits perfect between the two layers holding this support together. I drilled a hole in the top layer to minimize the distance between the charging spool and the phone.

Did you ever get around to installing this?

Thanks. This is definitely the way I want to go. I had a couple ideas on building several of my own with different materials (hockey puck, wood table, etc) and bought a couple cheap units from Monoprice to take apart. Yours makes it much easier.

The only problem for my vehicle install is that I do not have the same lid as yours so my preferred surface is under the center stack.

Thanks

It took me some time to find the right location. But under the center stack could work as well. Just make sure the distance between the phone and the charger doesn't become to much or it won't charge. The max distance for this item is 6mm. (take into account your phone cover as well)

Good luck!
