I bought a set of knockoff 22in stormer wheels from amazon. They are 50mm offset and when I went to get them balanced and mounted, the guy said they wouldn't fit. Is it because I have 285/40/22 tires on it? Do I need spacers? I literally just bought the vehicle so any input is appreciated!

Update: all the wheels seem to fit ( they are extremely close) except the front passenger side. It actually is touching the spindle/ball joint. Why would this be happening?

We would have know the year rig you are trying to fit these to, so we could look up factory spec wheels. So are your "knockoffs" the same as factory specs?

Something tells me either off set is incorrect or your tyres are oversized. So is the wheel that is touching the ball joint or the tyre rubbing on it.

Wong on so many levels. 20 x 9.5 53 offset was the largest rim for the 2007 NAS rigs. 22" rims did not make an appearance until the final year L320. Again still 9.5 width and 53 offset. Your knock off rims are are a full half inch wide than factory 22s. The largest tire for factory 22s are 275/40r22.

I would suggest you sell on your over sized knock offs and get genuine 22 LR Stormers and "perhaps" you can still use your oversized tires.
