I'm a little confused on how the process works. So we don't get to keep the device? So everytime I want to change the Tune back to stock and back to velocity I have to request that they mail me the device again? Hmmm. I'm hoping I'm misunderstanding this as that hasn't been discussed anywhere on the page: http://www.velocityap.com/product-p/vel-rangerover5.0ecu.htm
I believe you get to keep the device for '14-'16 cars. The tuner for '17-onwards model years seems to be different so you can't keep the device (possibly more expensive?). At least that's what I understood from reading the two different listings on their website.

The website definitely could use some TLC, including describing the processes better. Not faulting them for it, heck my own website hardly describe our services correctly anymore. We launched our site in 2014 and about half of it is really outdated now.

Yep, my understanding is that for 16 and prior, each vehicle is paired to a device (that you keep) to reflash the vehicle... for 2017 and on, LR switched to FlexRay, which hooks up via a laptop, I believe this device is more expensive and so rather than pushing the price of a tune way up, they have a loaner tool program. I have another thread open asking if anyone has purchased their own flexray tool, to avoid having to bother Velocity for a loaner.

Now if we could just get someone to hack the signal lights so we get the animations in NA. haha

Folks that have already done the velocity tune are very pleased with results and service. The folks on the group buy have not received their kits yet as the arrangement just closed on the 10th. Hopefully kits shipped Friday. All going well they will be received over the next couple days.

SO, who in the group buy is going to be the first to apply the tune?

Tracking has mine getting here on Wednesday 5/16. Don't think I'll be the first but will hope to have the OEM file emailed by that evening.

Supposed to get my unit on Tuesday night. I'll turn the stock map around to Velocity within an hour so it's really up to them how fast I can get it into the car.

OMG! How could I miss the GB <img src="http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/images/smilies/crybaby2.gif" border="0" alt="" title="" class="inlineimg" />
Can’t hurt to ask if Velocity would allow for one more

Another question for Velocity, is it possible to add in the burbles from the SVR tune? Even though we have different exhausts, I assume that the same concept would produce similar (albeit, less pronounced) crackles in our cars? I've seen other tuners do this on other platforms (BMW, Audi, etc.). I would be very interested.

What is the process exactly?
Once you receive the flash unit, plug it into your OBD II to download your base tune, then plug it into your computer to get the file, email it to Velocity, they will tweak it and send it back to you, reverse the process with the new tune, voila. That's how it should work anyway.

You are talking about throttle-blip on downshift ? That's a good question.

I was searching the Jaguar F-Type forums to get more feedback about the VelocityAP tune. Stumbled across someone who had asked for more "crackles and pops" from their tune for their V6 F-Type. VelocityAP was able to do this, and the forum member said it sounded amazing.

I've had the tune on my V6 RRS for about two weeks now, with the additional crackles and pops tune. Oh man, it's been GREAT! The tune has exceeded my expectations. It's like I have a whole new, much more powerful truck now. Get the revs up to about 3,500 RPM, let off the gas, and you are treated to an orchestra of crackles and pops coming from the exhaust. The only mod I've done to the stock exhaust was a resonator delete. Highly recommend!!

Hi everyone, received my tune at noon today (perks of living in the PNW, I'm relatively close to their facility) and just sent over my tuning file to AP.

It was a pretty easy process. First, I downloaded the provided software (PC only), connected the device and installed some updates. Then I went to my car, plugged it into the OBDII port and the device read my stock tune. Took about 5 min, got a bunch of warning lights on the dash (apparently normal and they went away after the reading process) and it was done. Went back inside, connected the device again to the program, downloaded the file and sent it over to Velocity. Software worked very easily (which I was pleasantly surprised by). Although I'm a pretty technical guy, I'm sure a lot of buyers aren't so I think this should be quite easy for them to figure out.

I asked for the SVR overrun feature in my email. I'll see what they say and how long the turnaround time is. Will keep you guys updated!

Aaron4uva,
Post a video please. Would love to hear the crackle added in with the tune.

404M3,
Let us know how it goes. And definitely keep us posted on the ‘overrun’ feature. That would be a HUGE bonus! ?

I just checked my mail and nothing for today.

I tuned my 2016 v8 dynamic and immediately noticed some pops when letting off the throttle. When I get back into town I can try and get a video.
