Hello, I've recently been experiencing a whining noise from the engine. It gets louder when I rev up the engine and while accelerating?

I've ruled out suspensions as hear it in park and it's not from audio feedback or anything like that.

Its a 2008 RR Sport 4.4L

Any suggestions are appreciated?

Thanks

Video of sound?

Usually a bad tensioner, idler pulley, or water pump.

Remove the serpentine belt at all to determine if the noise is internal or external. While it is out, spin all of the pulleys and make sure they are tight, with little play, and little to no noise.

change Alternator
I agree with Simo. A bad alternator can create an whine. Have a shop test it under full load. Keralis had good thoughts too. I replaced all my tensioners and pulleys at 120k miles.

Does the sound increase when you turn your steering wheel? If so, then your power steering pump is cavitating and will eventually fail. If the whine is constant and low in pitch until accelerating, then your belt is probably the culprit. The alternator can cause a whine but you would notice the lights dimming on decal and going bright on accel.
